Its got dbw, not sure about the map sensor range or calibration either.
Im doing a parallel install so the stock ecu controls the AT.
I have some other doubts regarding some pins but havent had any answers on my post yet.

Sounds cool. Do you know the connector? If you have the time, patience, etc, we could spin a board that specifically works with gen3's. It would make it much more plug and play. Is that a reasonably goal, or do they change the harness / connector to often to make that a reality. It might be good to baby step it though.

Have you seen these connector break out's that we've been doing? We can commonly get a connector from the salvage yard, then using the pigtail on a Frankenso, we can connect to just about any setup.
http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=507

See Dodge Neon done here. Note the connectors used on R0.4 board.
http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=696&hilit=3d+printer&start=73

Also this might be of interest. It's a board with a bunch of fuses as jumpers. If you used a salvage ECU with pig tail, you could make a short extension cable. Then using this board, you could migrate 1 cyl at a time.
http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=454

So what should be the first step? Do you need hardware support of some kind, or is an adapter harness the best way to hit the proof of concept.

Perhaps one of the easiest ways to do this would be to make a break out board for the connector, then install a frankenso pigtail on it. That would likely be one of the fastest solutions. Then if we can find the connector some where. We could do a re-spin of the Frnakenso.
The current wiring harness for Gen 3 Hemis also include controls to the transmission and the driver's dash. So we can't use the current wiring harness. Users will probably want to use the rusEFI board with their classic car and the gen 3 hemi engine, so we do not need to control the transmission or the dash. I will create the wiring harness for the final version and we will see if we need more terminal connectors or not and decide which ECU connector to use.

I found a website to buy new connectors:
http://www.customconnectorkits.com/

My short term goal for now is to get the engine running with the current version of the rusEFI board, wiring harness and custom made module addition. Spend lots of time testing on my engine dyno. Once I'm happy with it, then spin the Gen3 Hemi version of the board with drive by wire, VVT, dash controls,....

Things to do this spring:

1- Get rusEFI with connectors - Done

2- Get Gen 3 Hemi engines - Done

3- Setup TBI with second rusEFI board on bench to design Drive By Wire - Next thing to do

4- Create wiring harness - Next thing to do
- Setup Crank and Cam sensors
- Setup Coil ignitors
- Connect injectors
- Connect coolant temp sensor, O2 sensors, Intake air temp sensor, Idle Air Controller,...

- Racing traction control (available in Tuner Studio)
- Drive Shaft VSS sensor
- Front wheel VSS Sensor

For future release:
- For 2009+ engines, setup VVT controller and variable runner length control.
- For boost engine, connect PSI boost sensor. Turbo Release valve.

- 8x EGT probes ove CAN-BUS

5- Once Drive by Wire is complete, Try to get the engine running.

Very interesting project! I love it!

Sweet. I understand the 1997 was pre-traction controls and such. I seem to recall that in something like 2000 they added inertial controls which made it much easier to drive with out spinning it around I understand you have so much HP that it likes to spin around when you might not expect it. You have to rely on your grey matter to steer it straight, as the computer is not going to do that for you. I believe that car was the last of a bread, anything newer has all sorts of safety features which limit your abilities to drive the hell out of it.

Also cool to hear about modern HEMI's. Would those be a potential rusEFI application? If so can we find a source or dimensions for the connector? Same for dims of the enclosure, etc. Perhaps we could make a HEMI friendly board.
I just bought a used Gen 3 hemi engines to test the board. I only work on Gen 3 Hemi engines at my shop. I'm interested to create a complete solution using the rusEFI board (or create a new board) to support Gen 3 Hemis, I will create the wiring harness and offer product support for this line of product. I'm trying to buy a second used gen 3 hemi engine for testing in case the first one blows up on the dyno! So I'm investing quite a bit of time and money in this project and my goal is to make a complete unit specialized just for Gen 3 Hemi engines for classic car restorers can use when doing a resto mod. I would also make special versions for customers racing at the track with it including myself.

I will probable 2 more boards from you when I come to visit. I want to setup one board on my lab bench to work with the Drive By wire TBI and also the simulator (JimStim).

I own a Viper
Which year? I want to see how ECU plugs look like so that I can buy something similar to make a PnP adapter and show up with it one day.

Something tells me you are not driving said Viper to US too often? :)
I have a 1997 GTS Viper. Let me take pictures of it next time I get to it (it is in storage until spring).
I only drive this car between 1000 & 2000 KM per summer! Basically around in my area to car shows.

Let me know what needs to be changed on the board to setup both to hall sensors. Thanks.
Same two links - you would need to remove a 0R and probably add a 1.5K into the next position. Look at the back of the board next to the MAX9925 chip (the tiny one below the middle of the connector) it would be pretty obvious what part is not symmetrical.

It's a 70s engine so I assume not stock cam trigger wheel? What is the name of that part you are using for cam
By the way, I'm playing with a Gen 3 hemi engine from 2005. It's the modern version of the hemi engine. Not a 70s engine.

Please note as is your board one input is set to VR another one to Hall - you say both are VR you would need to modify 2nd channel - remove one 1.5K resistor add one 0R resistor - http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual:Hardware:Frankenso:VR_input http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual:Hardware:Frankenso:Hall_input
After doing more research, both the crank and cam sensors uses 3 wires, GND, +5V and crank/cam signal. I believe they both are Hall Sensors and not VR sensors.

Let me know what needs to be changed on the board to setup both to hall sensors. Thanks.

How often do you touch a v10 engine?
I own a Viper, but never did any work to it yet. I just set it up on the Dyno to see how it does.
