No, this rusEFI custom broadcast has absolutely nothing to do with OBD-II.

Overall OBD-II quality is not high on the priority list.

Understand, I'm willing to help but would need to be pointed in the right direction.

Yep. Normal scan tools work with rusEfi.

By far the most poplar is the M12 5 pin, followed by the M12 4 pin. I think you'll find the M8 is small and easily damaged. However if you have a fairly low stress environment, and you have space concerns, the M8 is smaller.

Automation industry seem to love those. Weidmuller 1828620000 would be an example of a 4P 4-pin 4-pole M8 box

Yep. Normal scan tools work with rusEfi.

Poor wiring was the issue. Two different ELM327 clones were handling poor wiring very differently, both now work once I've hooked female connectors on Frankenso 64 pin connector header.

I've got https://github.com/fr3ts0n/AndrOBD/wiki to work - that's an ODB open source software for Android. We can technically build something on top of it...

My Frankenso reads and writes CAN messages from/to Mazda RX8 cluster so I know that HW works.

rusEFI firmware shows 25 messages received from red wired self-contained ODB scanner which tells me that I have properly wired 4 wires in OBD connector.

I have an ELM327 clone which is working great on my 2011 daily driver and I know that my 2011 daily driver has CAN protocol.

Problem: rusEFI does not receive a single message from ELM327 clone. I've tried two Android applications and now I am trying AT commands - still, CAN read counter is zero. What's the chance of rusEFI not setting up CAN right? Some sort of filter?
