Re: Wideband Controller: Fully Custom, no ASIC!
I thought that GD was a full-cycle manufacturer. Do they source wafers from some other companies? People say, this crisis will last for at least a year. Changing a package in the PCB probably takes a few hours. If you are switching to a different package within the same MCU, probably there won't be ...

220V? how safe is it? I've read that you shouldn't use soldering irons connected to mains for soldering electronics since you can ruin ICs..

Will it be just one WBO (considering initial notion of 8 cylinders, which probably implies two banks of cylinders, hence, two WBO sensors)?

Re: Audi v8 with ITBs
NOTE: "fully sequential" gets touted as some holy glorious ideal of EFI, but it's not really required. You'll get better idle emissions and slightly better fuel economy, but at high load/rpm, you're not going to notice a difference. The only potential real difference is that since you kno...

This will make the local copy of the whole bunch of not needed stuff - hardware files, etc. That's a pity there is still no known way to copy just the source files required for firmware build.

What if using ts just for configuring, while analyzing tracks in logic analyzer? Saleae now have several analog channels, plus here are (if i am not mistaken) opn source variants (sigrek?) - but this would require saving logs in those formats..

Just a thought: with all these wireless connectivity options, security becomes sort of a concern. I'd suggest to implement a 'read-only' mode for such communications, to be enabled/disabled either with a physical jumper or a password-protected checkbox.

Let me know when (if) you start selling it - I would be happy to by one of these. :D The advantage of esp32 is that it can be used not only via bluetooth, but also as a wifi (dunno, either a client, or an access point) The drawbacks are: these boards are probably trickier to set up, plus BT is BLE-m...

Nice! Couple of dozen components are on the other side of the board - probably need to be soldered manually, but that's okay. If there are some extra pins abailable in the connector - I would add an onboard pull-up to 12V resistor for the vehicle speed sensor + corresponding pins. What's the purpose...

That's an awesome trick! Haven't heard of using such sensors in mass production vehicles. I'd like to see the implementation of such a solution - I mean, the sensor part number, its proper location, etc.
