Re: Proteus .4 Lowside Drivers dying.
When looking through logs from my test drive yesterday I see Warning 6711 (The CUSTOM_PWM_DUTY_TOO_HIGH = 6711) is occurring throughout the log. I cannot find which PMW this error is associated. I was wondering if this could be tied to the driver issue. Is there a way to see what could be causing th...

Proteus .4 Lowside Drivers dying.
I have had several low side drivers die in the last two weeks. As they were dying I was making changes to try to fix/troubleshoot the situation. I checked Resistance on all injectors, check the wires then ran all new wires to all 4 injectors (wired individually but set to batch fueling). Swapped out...

It is possible to add a coin cell/battery to any proteus, to allow the SD logs to write with real time stamps?

As another side note. Is it possible to add a coin cell to Proteus 0.4 for real time stamps on the logs?

Re: Proteus .04 RPM Spiking, Trigger Error?
Kind of side note - note your warning count / last warning. Ideally we want to address all of these one by one :) These are the warnings on these logs. CUSTOM_VVT_SYNC_POSITION = 6675, CUSTOM_RE_ADDING_INTO_EXECUTION_QUEUE = 9011, /** * This indicates an issue with coil control - pin was not high w...

Re: Proteus .04 RPM Spiking, Trigger Error?
I have seen pictures of a cherry hall adapter. I may try my hand at making one. In the meantime I will set it back to wasted spark. My goal is to take advantage of all of the features I possibly can. And hopefully provide good information back. I will take a look at the warn count and last warn when...

Re: Proteus .04 RPM Spiking, Trigger Error?
It does sound like it is indeed something weird with the cam sync, then. Can you describe your hardware setup? The crank signal all looks fine to me. Where is your cam sensor? What kind of sensor? What is the target the sensor is sensing? A few things to try: Can you share a snip of the rusEFI cons...

Re: Proteus .04 RPM Spiking, Trigger Error?
I must have messed up the trigger offset set up when i set it originally(with a junky old timing light. When checking with a nice newer timing light today I had to change it from 114 to 124 and now it is all lining up. When set to no cam and wasted spark there are no spikes and no hiccups. When trig...

Re: Proteus .04 RPM Spiking, Trigger Error?
Test #1: Set "operation mode" to "4 stroke without crank sensor", re-check trigger offset with timing light. Set cam inputs to NONE. Set spark mode to wasted spark if not already. Take a log. Does the blip still happen? Test #2: Change nothing else, but add the cam input as it's...

Proteus .04 RPM Spiking, Trigger Error?
I hope I am not bombarding too much in here. I am finally able to put real miles on the car and am working through issues as they arise. I am working through revving the engine out to limiter now and I am getting RPM spikes. These spikes are causing the limiter to kick in early. The spikes according...

Re: Proteus .04 ETB Idle Settings/Issuestuner
It looks like most of your problem is a lazy electronic throttle: image.png (the green and red traces should track almost exactly: one is target position, the other is actual position) I remember you recently changed the ETB PWM frequency. That probably means you need to re-run auto PID tuning for ...

I am having a really tough time getting my car to idle in any consistent way. How do the following settings interact with the others? Re: ETB Disable when throttle at 100% for >3 seconds
Along with the firmware update I increased ETB pwm frequency to try to get it above my ear’s abilities. I just dropped it back to 1500 Hz. That seems to have fixed the issue.

Re: ETB Disable when throttle at 100% for >3 seconds
ETB chip is indeed getting very hot. I can also feel it getting hot as I put the throttle down. The longer I hold full throttle the hotter it gets until it shuts the throttle.

ETB Disable when throttle at 100% for >3 seconds
I can reproduce this when running and not running. The logs below are just sitting with the key on. If I hold the throttle at 100% for 3 seconds the ETB disables. It requires a reboot of the Proteus to re-enable. I have confirmed that both pedal sensors are reading and and the calibrated pedal % is ...

Re: Proteus - Clutch Down not indicating when grounding pin
It seems to be just digital 4 that does not respond. I tried digital 6 and 5 this morning and they are working correctly.
And as a note; pull down, pull up, and default all worked for a switch input once I switched the pin from digital 4.

Re: E85 / Flex fuel logic
Question: does any rusEFI user have a real flex sensor on a real rusEFI vehicle already wired into a real rusEFI ECU? I just wired one in. Proteus .4 and continental sensor. Car is currently apart for clutch/trans swap. I should have it back together later this week. I could do some testing then.
