I'm following this thread. I like SmartFusion2 SoC. But I'm not a FPGA/CPLD developer. :) So I'll keep playing with STM.

Re: [info] rusEfi Scheduler Performance & Accuracy

The 'old fashioned' way to achieve missing tooth without a linked timer was to run two timers, if an input capture event didn't occur within a fixed period, ie 150% of the previous time then the second timer would time out and generate an interrupt which is the sync. You're missing the point that i...

Re: [info] rusEfi Scheduler Performance & Accuracy

Almost every microcontroller built since 1978 has these timers, the STM32F407 has 14 IC/OC channels although they may not all be usable if the parent timer is being used for a seperate function. Unfortunately no one of this timers can be used to decode trigger wheel. Ok, we can do SW decode. Let HW...

Re: [info] rusEfi Scheduler Performance & Accuracy

The main problem is that the code uses the ST like a PC rather than as a microcontroller. If you implement input capture and output compare as it is intended then the amount of jitter you get is limited to two clock cycles because it is independant of the main processor core. Unfortunately what you...

Hey, they're not discrete, they're paired overtemp/overcurrent/active clamp drivers!
Sorry, sorry, But in any case it is better to have some feedback. Like "I'm too hot to keep working". TLE6240 and MC33810 both provide such feedback.

Re: Sprut - A newbies try to design an ECU

Now to the bad news, the MCU won't start and won't connect over USART nor DFU in bootloader mode on either of the PCBs. I can understand why DFU wouldn't work as it requires a functioning HSE but the USART is clocked via the HSI. I've checked if there are any shorts or solderbridges but none are fo...

L9779WD-SPI has other feather (SEO, Carnk, CAN, Stepper, ...)
8888 also has CAN.
And 4 x push-pulls (half-bridges) that can be used for stepper.
Not sure about SEO and Crank.

Re: L9788 - multifunction IC for automotive engine management system

I like too for 8 cylinder. L9788 is in standardization phase and not ready for use. I want to use tow L9779WD-SPI now. For 6-ch ignitor pre-driver, you can use Bosch CK110. For 8 cylinder you can use 2 x MC33810. Each has 4 x ignition pre-driver + 4 x injector driver. And a loooot of diagnostic and...

L9788 - multifunction IC for automotive engine management system

L9788 is something like TLE8888 but with 6 channels pre-drivers of ignitor drivers. While only 4 low-side injector channels. I'm looking for TLE8888-like chip for 6 cylinder motor. Want some integrated solution... but all-in-one solutions are up to 4 cylinders. Was someone able to get full manual fo...

Re: hip9011 integration

Can someone scab in a wire from one of these STM pins, then setup the circuit as noted below. You should have some pads at the XTAL circuit, you would just need to add a wire to get the STM signal over to the clock area. On my version of ECU 9011 is clocked from STM32 this way. But I did not try 90...

Re: proper lambda values before and after catalytic converter

Catalic errors sounds like "too slow reaction" or "too fast reaction". AFR after catalytic should be smoother than before.

Will the Op-amps fry with overvoltage?
I just need them to survive if shorted to 12V
Depend on current.
Its operation during overvoltage is unpredictable. Moreover one overvotaged amp can affect other is same package. Or shift power rail.

Is there any other Op-amps that will be fine without?

How about one with higher input voltage range?
This is common limitation for general purpose opamps: input voltage should be within supply voltage range.

Why are you trying to save board space? I thought you have a lot of free space.

Check DS, there is some limitation from ADC side. Source of ADC signal should not have to big output resistance.

Re: PNP ECU for Vw/Audi ME7

200 Ohm VS (200 Ohm || 30 KOhm) ~= 395Ohm. 2% make no much sense.
4.4K VS (4.4K || 30KOhm) ~= 3.8 KOhm. 14%.
Knowing additional parallel resistance introduced by input divider you can compensate it in SW.

In case of TPS it will be more complicated to compensate this.
