Re: Looking for a solution for the Subaru EG33

I had not but just looked through your thread. Pretty neat stuff. The talk of Mode B vs mode A2 is especially interesting and I wonder if that pertains to my board. It may take me some time to get my older Frankenso kit going. That being said testing for a crank and cam pickup pattern is on my to d...

Re: MicroRusEFI, not recognised by computer?

as i cant see anything else on that circuit that could pull the signal low, is it safe to assume the MCU is dead? On MRE 0.5.0 TLE8888's WatchDog can pull reset low. You should remove R2 (if you populated it)... Looks like you did. Also, as TLE8888 is powered from +12V it may pull it low when board...

Re: MicroRusEFI, not recognised by computer?

Hi.
Did you check power lines?
Check that you have 3.3V on TP3.
Check that RESET line is high (Reset button side close to MCU)
If you have oscilloscope - check that X1 is oscillating.

Re: BMW M10 carb to EFI setup

On pre 0.5.0 TLE8888's ignition outputs are available on test points. But no gpios routed to TLE8888 ignition inputs. As far as I understand datasheet ignition outputs can not be driven over spi only. But this is not 146%.

429discovery uses 144LQFP version of the chip, 407 uses 100 pin footprint. Pin count matters :)
STM32F429VIT6 is in LQFP100 package. :)
So if you want 429 chip on 407 discovery it is doable. Not sure about reasons. More memory?

I think you can solder 429 on 407 discovery. If you really want 429. Chips pinout should be same.

Why would AutoDesk know anything about electrical? Do they offer any electrical PCB design software? I know about the fairly recent routing options for Inventor. Re: TLE8888 Ground path.

I recall the calculated lift of the GND plane for like a 10A current was around 0.001V. That amount of lift of the GND pin is negligible from the ADC stand point. It would be interesting to measure the lift and check it against the real world. Does this include voltage drop on ground wire from ECU ...

Please define advanced ground routing. I think you are saying adding barriers in your ground plane to create barriers for analog and digital. Or power and signal, etc. Separate ground for 1. ECU power 2. hi current low side output 3. analog inputs 4. shielding At least all this types of ground sign...

After reading the TLE8888 datasheet(specifically page 6 and 7) i found that the AGND and PGND pins are internally connected, how did you guys solved the problem of ground loop? can i simply ignore it and attach both to the ground plane? did you use the ic as the single point connection of the signa...

Re: L9788 - multifunction IC for automotive engine management system

ST has released datasheet for L9779.
Very similar to TLE8888.
Has integrated 3.3V LDO. This is cool.
14 LS outputs + Relay + 4 push-pulls for stepper + 4 ignition. Less than 8888 has, but all this outputs are on-chip, while 8888 has 6 pre-drivers for external mosfets.

2. not exactly. first of all, stm32 pin usually also connects to a MOSFET and often setValue(true) means +3v on stm32 but low-side control on the MOSFET. But what's really is important is that setValue(true) means "turn fuel pump ON" regardless of what it means on physical level. some fuel pumps wo...

Nope. I do not have any HW with TLE8888 attached. Actually I have tle8888 and breadboard. But I better wait for real MRE that doing this wiring nightmare.

It has limited support of old-style BT, but it works perfectly fine with BLE. Anyway, it needs some efforts to develop the software.
With ESP32 you will need only web-browser... And some code for ESP side.

Re: [info] rusEfi Scheduler Performance & Accuracy

The 'old fashioned' way to achieve missing tooth without a linked timer was to run two timers, if an input capture event didn't occur within a fixed period, ie 150% of the previous time then the second timer would time out and generate an interrupt which is the sync. You're missing the point that i...

Almost every microcontroller built since 1978 has these timers, the STM32F407 has 14 IC/OC channels although they may not all be usable if the parent timer is being used for a seperate function. Unfortunately no one of this timers can be used to decode trigger wheel. Ok, we can do SW decode. Let HW...

Re: [info] rusEfi Scheduler Performance & Accuracy

The main problem is that the code uses the ST like a PC rather than as a microcontroller. If you implement input capture and output compare as it is intended then the amount of jitter you get is limited to two clock cycles because it is independant of the main processor core. Unfortunately what you...
