Re: [MRE] Firmware mismatch with Tuner Studio
Not quite there yet... The console recognizes the MRE (on COM25) and makes it react when I try to update with the auto-dfu mode but it stops there and I get this : Using selected COM25 Reboot command sent! Giving time for USB enumeration... Executing .\.\DfuSe/DfuSeCommand.exe -c -d --v --fn ..\ruse...

Re: [MRE] Firmware mismatch with Tuner Studio
Another thing I've noticed : rusefi_simulator tends to get deleted if it encounters an error. The two instances it happened : Before managing to make rusefi_console work, I just clicked on rusefi_simulator, it tried to execute something but then crashed (or just closed) and deleted itself. Now with ...

Re: [MRE] Firmware mismatch with Tuner Studio
Bingo! Just put everything in another folder and it now launches!Your console does not have permissions to start writing logs. You can launch it under adminstrator or move it to a different folder?
Well, I should thank you!Thank you for a great error report!

Re: [MRE] Firmware mismatch with Tuner Studio
Well... java_console.exe in the terminal doesn't execute anything. I've searched for this particular file but no trace of it. I did go into the java control panel and checked "show console" but it made no difference. I also updated it to version 8 Update 291. Oh and if I execute java under...

Re: [MRE] Firmware mismatch with Tuner Studio
I guess I'm a bit thick but I can't seem to get the console to open... I'm trying to execute rusefi_console.exe that's in the latest bundle (20210417_121019_mre_f4_rusefi) but nothing happens... rusefi_autoupdate.exe does launch a java window prompting me to choose between 4 options for the update. ...

Re: [MRE] Firmware mismatch with Tuner Studio
Thanks for the reply. I've looked a bit into it and from what I've gathered, I should download the rusefi console and update directly in DFU mode. Correct me if I'm wrong :-) One thing I can't figure out though is which package to select : in the latest Malbec release I can't seem to choose... I wou...

[MRE] Firmware mismatch with Tuner Studio
2024 edit: this post is a bit outdated, we now use stm32cubeprogrammer instead of DfuSeCommand.exe overall see https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/rusEFI-Quick-Start-PDF Hi all, After almost a year of sitting around, I finally got round to connecting my microRusEfi to the computer... only to be m...

Re: Trying to identify and source a Bosch VR sensor connector
well that was quick!!
It does look the part. It's a reference mounted on Audi Q7 so that makes sense...
I can't seem to find it anywhere else than Aliexpress though... that sucks...
Scratch that, it's pretty much everywhere with your reference!
Thanks for the help!

Trying to identify and source a Bosch VR sensor connector
Hi all, I have a Bosch VR Sensor that should work a treat for my BMW M10 EFI conversion. https://www.bosch-motorsport-shop.com.au/inductive-speed-sensor~60477 I'm having a hard time identifying the connector... It's not your classical JST Junior Power timer nor your Bosch Kompakt line. Does any of y...

Re: BMW M10 carb to EFI setup
Great stuff!historical reasons. Latest MRE 0.5.0 could be adjusted to use TLE8888 IGN1-4
How can I tell which MRE version I have?
From the schematic, I'm guessing there's some PCB rework to be done? Or can the output be controlled via SPI?
Would there be a suitable firmware available ?

Re: BMW M10 carb to EFI setup
Ok, nevertheless I don't understand why the TLE888 is not used via it's IGN1-4 input as a power stage?
Is it a deliberate move to keep EMI off-board?

Ok, I didn't have in mind the MIC4427 drivers on the ignition outputs.
Looks perfect to drive the ignition modules then!!

Re: BMW M10 carb to EFI setup
Hi mck1117. Thanks for the answers. after a quick search: it looks like the stock m10 sensor might be an 0 280 130 026 (or at least it fits in the stock hole?), which is the exact sensor I have in my Volvo running on rusEfi! Yes, that's the one! Did you have to make a calibration table for it ? In w...

BMW M10 carb to EFI setup
Hi guys, I'm trying to see a bit clearer in my carb to EFI conversion on a bmw M10 engine. So far I have : L-jetronic intake manifold complete with injectors, fuel rail and pressure regulator. M50 throttle body along with its TPS and connector (3P bosch junior timer type) MAP / IAT sensor (Bosch 0 2...

Re: Hello from France : BMW M10 EFI conversion
Hi all, Thanks for the welcome. Wrong guess about the E30, it's actually an E21 ;) Planning to run MAP with a MAP+IAT Bosch sensor that will be adapted on the manifold. As you probably know, the K-Jet was a MAF set-up (even though it's not electronic injection per se) so have to adapt a couple of se...

Hello from France : BMW M10 EFI conversion
Hi everyone, Just received my mini RusEFI a couple of days ago. Nice piece of kit! I'm in the process of converting a BMW M10B18 engine. It was initially a K-Jetronic engine so it already has some of the sensors needed. I'm also in the possession of a M10B18 L-Jetronic air intake with injectors and ...
