Re: JRockland E38 750il gen 1 supercharged
SO small update... :? I checked around the harness and modules and all that rat nest, and rode from the repair manual.. :geek: "Just adding the rusefi" won't be that easy: The automatic transmission is linked with EVERYTHING in the car... and if anything is messed with it won't work....

I actually wish I could help, I love those projects.. hmm before spending any money on the tranny, check the valve seals on the engine, they usually go bad and it is reall...

Re: JRockland E38 750il gen 1 supercharged
Hmm I know those connectors are probably really useful and look pretty but I think Ill just skip and start the harness straight from the board. I have tons of 2-3-4 pins connectors for car harness so Ill just connect each element independently for now. When it is running and functional I might make ...

the one I'm looking at is for a 5.4l v8, I can't find anything much bigger then that. I don't want a big American thing that pop out of the hood, just something for a bit of kick.

Ok. Wiring is going great, now I need to know what I need to buy (version/model) so I can order the Rusefi.
Also need to know what I need to run wideband sensor as my dyno doesn't have the module.
**Also where can I buy it.
Thank!

If you really want a picture
Still waiting for the welder to come assemble the engine frame so I can start working on it
And also my shop is getting painted, might delay everything by a week or two. Anyway I'm in no hurry.

Re: M73 Automatic transmission
Looking at the harness the easiest way would be to keep the original ECU's, cut off all their output to the motors and give them enough input to make them believe they are in control. This way they still control the TCM. I had been looking for people around with a similar series car but no luck. ***...

Re: Proteus v12 club
Soo yea took a look at the engine and realized the sparkplug goes right between headers.
Cable it is.
Is double spark plug a thing in cars ? I'm use to built motorcycle engine and in Harley's we would drill a second hole to get 2 spark per cylinders. never seen that in cars. just a question.

i grabbed from the junkyard, but you can get them new on eBay for not much money the "yukon" ones have little metal bits on top That's what I use...the yukon D585 ones which are supposed to spark the hottest. They were like $10 each and came in ferrari red :) They look great, but they sti...

the Ion Sense will be some kind of "dumb " coil, ( Simon is using the Mini coil currently) and a custom board from rusefi-- Until that happens, i am using GM "Yukon" coils on my V12-- seem to work well, fitting into the tight spark plug hole... and cheap at the junkyard... Do yo...

Start working on the harness, it look like a massive mess until you realise bmw engineers made it look bad but in reality it is really straight forward.

Ill try to find someone with a running 750il. The body is leaving for the body shop and I have to rebuilt the tranny and exhaust lines before anything goes back in the car. And fit the supercharger. Re: M73 Automatic transmission
Not a problem, really nice for a can reader. It is easier to mount it on a bench so when it work I can built a proper harness and make them available ? Oil/prestone/gas isnt a problem. Security system will be as I will have to get the modules out of the cars.. finding a way to bypass would make it m...

Engine/tranny is out and cleaned, I think Ill start by mounting the tranny on a bench and connecting it to an electric motor (I have couple of high torque motors around the shot). From there I can look at options: Sending code to the tcm from a pi (hard) Manually trigering the selenoid and learn how...
