Re: Maserati Coupé Tipo M138
Relatively low. I've had the engine apart and the internals look easily up to the task of 750hp. E85 will be used for attempting to reach the target of 750hp. Twin GT3076R's are used to motivate it haha.

Putting a proteus on that engine, albeit not in the Coupe anymore.

Was it actually knocking? Modern DI engines have a pretty high knock threshold, well past MBT usually

Re: ETB Frequency
I've never seen a throttle's position sensors (yes, hall like yours) deviate more than about 0.5% over temperature and their life without it being a wiring issue. Thanks for the push to check the wiring. While I didn't find any wiring faults I did find a bad AEM pressure sensor (Exhaust back pressu...

Re: smallCANboard also known as Small CAN Board
How much lua program space? How much do you need? At the moment it's 50K How would you use it? If I have orders I can try using STM32F413 or STM32L496RG. STM32F413 actually has third CAN bus if anyone has a use-case for third CAN bus. Looks like 25K? 2023-11-02_11_27_21_789: EngineState: Lua memory...

I'm running new wires direct from ecu to throttle body now.
This is over 3 different cars. Two on Proteus, one on MRE.

Re: ETB Frequency
Back at this again. New throttle body, lasted a few hours before starting to cause errors with TPS primary and secondary not matching. Seems the threshold is 5% error between the channels, and that is simply too close it seems. Previous throttle bodies had analog resistive traces for TPS signals. Th...

Is it possible to add something like this screenshot to the ETB system? This is allowed TPS error percentage in the OE GM calibration.

You'll want an 8 bolt flywheel kit for the 2.0L engine. Stock location turbos clear the chassis with lots of room. You'll need to bypass and block off the oil cooler and run a remote one.

ETB Frequency
I remember reading about the reason the default PWM frequency is 800hz but I can't find it. I think this is the cause of my repeated throttle body failures. They audibly make noise, and while that isn't a concern of itself it has lead to multiple throttle bodies with failed TPS circuits. I'm using G...

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!
Are the injector drivers on Proteus capable of handing 8.5ohm injectors? Specifically Bosch 0 280 158 333 injectors. The datasheet for VNLD5160 doesn't specify if the 3.5amp drain current is per channel or total. If per channel that would be fine, if total it might run into some thermal issues? I've...

BMW 540i Turbo LS Swap
Always a work in progress, but here is a project I've been working on. Its a 94 BMW 540, since swapped to an LS, with a medium sized turbo. Proteus ECU with some basic Lua to control a second fuel pump. 16psi peak boost, dropping to redline. It has a known exhaust back pressure problem that I can't ...

Re: NA Miata EcotecMiata Race Car
Manually holding the throttle closed and open is how I did calibrate it. ETB motor off. Resting throttle is around 20-25% depending on which AV channels are used and which way around they are wired.

Re: NA Miata EcotecMiata Race Car
To be honest the tune changed each time I flipped the wiring/position so I'm not sure which one that tune correlates to. I can redo this if you think it would be of benefit.

Re: NA Miata EcotecMiata Race Car
I can see a slight variance in the two TPS curves. I wonder if the ecu should record a TPS swing from min to max and store that as known good data instead of just the two points and straight line interpretation it does now?

Re: NA Miata EcotecMiata Race Car
Some datalogs attached. Essentially flipped TPS primary and secondary channels on AV2 and AV5 then physically changed to AV8 and AV10 and swapped those from primary to secondary again. Odd behaviour, in that the TPS error occurs at different blade angles. These logs are all with the ETB disabled and...

Re: NA Miata EcotecMiata Race Car
Chasing TPS drop out. It is annoying me because sometime the TPS error is big/long enough to cause the throttle to actually close a bit and the drive feels this. Also this is causing fits with the transmission controller. I've uploaded a log which shows the issue. It seems like there is more noise o...

Vds is only 40v. While that may spark in open air on a test bench, it will not fire reliably at all under pressure in the cylinder.

Re: CBR600RR Engine
The actual FET you use for ignition coil control is very important. It needs to have a very high avalanche voltage (350v+), very fast turn off time at moderate current (5-10amps), and very low RDSon. you don't want a FET at all, you want an IGBT designed for ignition coil applications Yes, exactly....

Re: CBR600RR Engine
There should be no more than 2 engine revolutions of delay before you get a spark. If it is longer than this you still have some crank trigger problem.

Re: CBR600RR Engine
The paired cylinders are 1&4 and 2&3, and that is the way the ECU will fire them. While firing two ignition coils at once there is no logical difference between the default 4 cylinder firing order of 1-3-4-2 and the honda 1-2-4-3. How are you checking ignition timing? Removing the COP from t...

Re: CBR600RR Engine
Have you tired this in two wire wasted spark mode?
Remember, cylinder 1 is the left side of the bike while sitting on it. So this is furthest from the timing chain.
