Nice, I assume you have a Dynojet? I'll be needing one in about a month. I'll be looking to get probably 2-3 different power tunes. The shop I used to work for had a dynojet. I bought it when they closed up, and then sold it after a few years. The shop I tune out of currently has a Mustang MD1750. ...

Another source of high-current lug stuff is lugsdirect.com They have a lot of bizarre and interesting parts. I've tried some of their "SMD" parts (i.e. https://lugsdirect.com/B2C-PCB-SS-Surface-mount-tech-2-14AWG-115A-PCB-terminal.htm ) and have found them to be too easy to break off PCBs ...

The VN700x are decent parts. I am using them as a replacement for the marked-for-obsolescence VN5E010AH. I have a couple thousand of them right now because.... I could buy them. Supply is *extremely* limited. The Weurth terminals are also awesome. They're very well designed. I think I am using a M5 ...

Nice. I'm in Cincinnasty. I've got a lot of experience doing "funny" tunes. I used to work for a domestic-oriented speedshop that helped a lot of folks field cars in NASA American Iron, which was a 9:1 power and 9.5:1 torque power:weight class. Lots of funny dyno graphs that made *exactly*...

Boost control tuning
Jimmy asked me about how to go about tuning boost control for his twincharged merc. This is the general procedure I would follow: 1. Figure out the LEAST amount of boost you want the turbocharger to run. Put this wastegate spring in the WG. 2. Unplug electrically any boost control solenoids. You wan...

Re: On v12 banks
The Huracan and R8 both STILL use dual ECUs for the V10 configuration, and that's a LOT more recent than 2010. (ME17) The best option here is to run the V12 as two independent I6 that share a common set of rotation speed sensors (cam, crank) IMHO. You can bandaid things some with individual cylinder...

Why not just use coils with builtin ignitor modules, and use 8 of them? They're cheap, plentiful, reliable, strong.

Re: Cranking / starting part 1
Matthew Kennedy suggests:
"60mg fuel / liter of displacement for each cylinder is a much better estimation for cranking fuel."
i.e. 5.3L V8 = 5.3L/8 = 0.666L / cylinder * 60mg/L = 37mg cranking
As of today (12-14-2021) priming logic is too new to have well defined suggestions.

The "big picture" behind tcharge is to try and more accurately predict the temperature of air entering the cylinder, as this is what matters more than the temperature of air wherever the intake air temperature sensor is or the temperature of the coolant sensor. The broad principles here ar...

FICMs don't fail due to soldering issues. They're essentially a heavy-duty boost converter and PnH driver in one. The FETs are mildly underspecced for long term reliability, plus the usual capacitor issues. Although I replaced a lot of components "just because" I did test as far as finding...

I think some of the snippyness you are finding is because Frankenso is the most "developer" of the current offerings. It's for people who *really* want to get their hands dirty. It's for people who want to learn more about the development process vs. those who want things to work. I don't ...

No it doesn't...it implies it depending on cylinder size and IAT, so you care about a different value for every engine size and IAT. I'm going to disagree with you there. *grams / cylinder* is the ultimate measure of cylinder pressure. The end. When the valves close and the compression stroke start...

[MAP....it gives a pretty direct indication of cylinder pressure which is vey helpful knowing where to set timing. that's the thing... it really DOESN'T tell you cylinder pressure. grams/cylinder tells you cylinder pressure. MAP tells you what you have prior to the intake valve opening. grams/cylin...
