Le accensioni CDI utilizzano il Tiristore (SCR) (esempio TS820-600T) e NON un IGBT per scaricare sulla bobina l'energia accumulata nel condensatore.
E' necessario anche interrompere la fornitura di tensione al condensatore durante il tempo di scarica, altrimenti il Tiristore non si apre mai.
