Fiat Multiair control

Hi all, Decided to make a new topic as this is a total different issue/question then the intential topic. Ive been wiring the MicroRusefi on a Engine test bench for a school. Pretty much everything is working now. They wanted the Fiat 500 Twinair engine on there. They did some research as it uses a ...

Re: Wont see crank trigger

Ive had a few minutes to test and i energized the solenoids of the Multiair unit. I can say that the injectors work as the valves where flooded and i ended up removing the spark plugs to clear the chambers. Cleaned out everything and was ready to give it a go, powered the solenoid and a few seconds ...

Re: Wont see crank trigger

My documentation is wrong. Did a Compression check and i have almost nothing. Then i found this documentation and it says that the solenoids need to be at 100% for it to be on Full lift mode. https://opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1035&context=auto_pres Its a good guide on the ...

Re: Wont see crank trigger

Update.. I had some errors in the current tune and had no indication about the injection.. So i started a new project and began from there, and it now let me know it cut fuel because of overboost. Turns out this was set at 80kpa. Increased it and adjusted the trigger with a lamp to be exact on the m...

Re: Wont see crank trigger

No injection. So im not sure it there is something wrong with the trigger or that the issue resides somewhere else. https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/pull/4592 makes this easier please switch to https://rusefi.com/build_server/rusefi_bundle_mre_f4.zip Only had 2 minutes to spare. I was able to updat...

Re: Wont see crank trigger

Wow today I've learned https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_TwinAir_engine If you look into the multiair strategy, it gets even more serious. It can do amazing stuff with the valve lift including opening twice in a single lobe-action. But in my case its not connected as we will let it run in full lif...

Re: Wont see crank trigger

My project has everything stock on this 2 cyl twin air fiat, and they are both hall sensor.
The crank sensor is a bit of an odd signal as the teeth arent equal. This signal i normally see when its an start stop capable system

Re: Wont see crank trigger

Hi, Had time to do some tests and indeed the primary input was set to none for some reason. Had to update the firmware of the MicroRusefi to get the console to work to do some engine sniffing. But im afraid im running into an issue that i might need some assistance with. The engine has a 60-2 trigge...

Re: Wont see crank trigger

I'm going over the pin setup, and i have no primairy input signal defined under full pinout 3/3.. Wonder how that happened and if that is my issue since the test pin has a good signal

Re: Wont see crank trigger

Ok, Microrusefi... Like i said, no trigger at all. Can post an empty CSV file here, but thats not really going to help is it. I did discover that when i enable the Cam Hall signal, i get something of a trigger log of the cam. But crank has nothing. Ive added that trigger log and the tune its running...

Wont see crank trigger

Hey All, I finished pretty much everything to make a test run and started to work on figuring out the trigger offsett. I was given some good instructions here on how to setup the Rusefi micro to work with my Hall sensor setup, and ive checked the signal with my scope and that worked. Didnt even look...

Re: trouble waking up Rusefimicro

Checked out everything under my microscope and it looked good.
So I packed my hook and started checking the pins. Found at least 3 pins on each that s Didnt flow correctly.

Corrected the issue and both wake-up.

Re: trouble waking up Rusefimicro

assembled the remaining bits, put in firmware and done.. That's from when we were still selling "solder it yourself" kits right? TLE8888 takes above average skill to solder any chance you could post some photos? See https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Hardware-microRusEFI-hardware-check...

trouble waking up Rusefimicro [resolved, soldering issue]

Hi all, Thanks for letting me join. 2 years ago i bought 2 rusefi micros to play around with. Got them, assembled the remaining bits, put in firmware and done.. Until this year i found a nice task for one of them, controlling a 2 cyl twin air engine on a test stand. Did all the wiring needed to let ...
