Re: Daihatsu KF-VE Engine
Thanks, My objective is to prepare sort of 'test bench engine' for my research group, where we can test and validate different parameter estimaton and control algorithm (its yet a long way to go with many unanswered things, but its on the move). Next steps (please correct me if i am neglecting somet...

Re: Daihatsu KF-VE Engine
Hello, A bit late, but i stuck in searching 36/2 trigger wheel from local scrap house and then executing the modification. New trigger wheel is now installed on the engine. I have included images step-by-step and engine is now running without trigger error. So, eventually ..... trigger is no longer ...

Re: Daihatsu KF-VE Engine
Thanks, rusEFI platform, once working, shall solve many of our issues regarding experimental validation and acquisition. Credit goes to the core team. On the test bench, there is lot to be done yet. Packing the wires and labeling the connectors, and perhaps installing a new crankshaft position senso...

Hello, A bit late response, once engine revolved ...... I took a day off. rusEFI frankenso rev 0.4 is now revolving the engine at idle. Here is a 40sec video of the engine, https://youtu.be/u_odg8fPzLI As i shared earlier, engine is not in the vehicle. My objective is sort of a test bench where diff...

Re: Daihatsu KF-VE Engine
hello, The trick worked, from youtube i confirmed that the mark on the pulley which i attached in previous response is correct one. Coils rcv 12V pulse (adjusted from the jumpers on rusEFI frankenso board), i dicsonnected CYL1 ignition coil from the connector and connected 12V 1.5W LED. TDC detected...

Re: Daihatsu KF-VE Engine
Thanks,
What if i take ignition pulse from ECU,
disconnect ignition coil, connect an LED/Light to it and put it at the dot on the pulley (in the image attached),
Maximum error would be equal to dwell time or less?
Am i right, or am i overlooking something? Please correct .....

Re: Daihatsu KF-VE Engine
hello, For TDC detection, I am searching for some alternative to timing gun .... bad-luck, Please confirm that my understanding is right, Once i have some mechanism wokring, i need to tune 'trigger delay' to attain the TDC at ignition time? Is that right? Please correct me if wrong, Apart from it, i...

Re: Daihatsu KF-VE Engine
Sorry for inconvenience,
Earlier I donwloaded the rusEFI bundle for console, hex/bin file, and ini file.
How do it get updated firmware? Is there a specific download page etc, (regrets if my question is a bit odd)?

Hello again, Thanks for a prompt response. 1) With the help of the example you quoted, i configured the build as '4 stroke without cam sensor', in dev console i receive trigger signal as expected but its not decoding the RPM. RPM field stays at zero. I have attached the figure from dev console(trigg...

Daihatsu KF-VE Engine
Hello Everyone, rusEFI has become such a nice community. I do research kind of stuff on engines. Until my work was limited to engine dynamic modeling, model tuning and validation, I had data acquisition setup on an engine running with OEM ECU. I was able to acquire all the engine inputs and outputs....
