Re: 1988 Mustang LX 5.0 ( Proteus Project )

The log doesn't tell me much. There are no fields that seem to contain pertinent data on the trigger. Could somebody with more knowledge please chime in and say which fields would be helpful if logged? To summarize the problem: When cranking, the edge counters increase, but we don't see rpm. A test ...

Hey Stephan you were right about the spout controlling the timing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhjn4F63jVI This video explain and shows how the signals work from the PIP and Spout. The IDM or Pin4 is the coil wire. It's the spout that controls ignition timing not sure how to interpret the signal...

Re: Torque approximation, TCU torque integration

In first iteration: torque at crank = torque produced - torque losses With torque produced being roughly proportional to airmass per cycle and losses being equal or greater to torque needed to sustain idle So I would go with a first iteration of (airmass/cycle - airmass/cycle(idle)) * correction fac...

Re: Stefan's Test Mules

But despite the aforementioned party pooper the engine made a healthy 186hp at the hubs using the stock ECU. That is 200hp in "dynojet mode". OEM spec says 186 at the crank I think. Using the Hellen88 board running up to approx. 5900rpm (stock made max power around 6300rpm) it made also 18...

Germans, after having moved to the US, enjoy a bit of freedom. I say don't restrain or "guide" the timing chain and let it fly free.

Thanks for this, but no, because I'm using https://www.ebay.com/itm/401736590801 as a manifold. Have to adapt something up to that. Might as well go larger.
That's an interesting looking manifold. Do you by any chance have a dyno comparison to the stock OBD1 intake?

I am here to report success. Turns out there were some conditions that needed to be met for the WBO module to even kick on the heater: Under "Controller" -> "Can Bus Communication" -> "Enable rusEFI Can Broadcast" = "true" must be set Under "Sensors"...

Re: Wideband Controller: Fully Custom, no ASIC!

I am currently bench testing a Proteus Honda K-125 board. This board has a built-in WBO controller. I built an adapter harness for the O2 sensor from the JST connector to an LSU 4.9. The board is fully connected to a Proteus via pigtails. The Proteus is powered via USB. I'm feeding 12V from a lab po...

E36 OBD1 325 Hellen Success

I have an old 325is from 1995. This is the first car that got to test the new Hellen 88 board. This board is designed as an (almost) plug&play replacement for the Motronic M3.3, M3.1 and M3.3.1 (my car is M3.3.1). After some initial bench testing to verify that things are unlikely to blow up whe...

Fortunately, it's not really an important area- just roll on the throttle when you get going and you will never experience it during regular driving. Fix your VE tab...

Hi and welcome! I've run a turbo NB1 with piggyback for a few years (not rusEFI at the time). You may even have to remove some r...

It looks like what you did should work. PA6 is for Input_10 which has an external 10k pullup. You should not need to have to set the input pin to pullup as well- that doesn't make sense on an analog input. Can you verify that the voltage level on PA6 on the brain board actually changes? With the swi...
