Re: Rotary engine Rx8

I recall timing for both fuel and spark are a bit different then 2 stroke, but totally doable if it's detailed enough for developers to implement. I recall you could get it running with 2 stroke, but to get it to run well, it's expected that some timing changes would be needed. I recall that on prio...

Also have you considered a more off the shelf solution? The beagle bone might be of interest.

Have you considered uGFX that works well with ChibiOS. I've dubbed around a bit with the STM32F429 dev board with the touch LCD. It seemed to work reasonably well for me.

Perhaps change the current sensor? It seems you just trying to sense the amps. See below video it details the use of a low cost board you can get on ebay.

Scratch is a fairly decent graphical / easy to use programming environment. It might not be that far fetch of an idea to use as a higher level programming environment.

Re: ECU high-level programming

Most OEMs have tools which allow then to specify high level stuff. They spec number of cyls, injector flow rates, etc. The tool then splices together the code they need to operate the engine. I recall Freescale has one that can be downloaded for free.

I would like to suggest using a real harness connector then make an adapter for db15 db37. Those db connectors have problems relative to automotive applications.

Some comments -- Yes you can talk other ECU's here, even MS. However please do it in an "on topic" forum post. Is your ECU open source, can you share, several of us like to see other approaches. -- If you tune with a set phase shift, do you really care about the phase shift? I think your t...

After the op-amp with a 5V input, you should see something more like 2.5V. Can you measure AV5 at the stm32 pin? What voltage do you get there?

Things like tail lights, fiberglass top, windshield, etc. For now it's just yard art. I plan a tube frame, new tub, etc. I do not know...

I have a 1995 YJ, 4cyl which I bought for the VIN. Do you have any suggestions? I dream of making it a direct injection diesel, with tube frame and new tub. What are your dreams for yours?

Is your mostly stock?

Re: Discrete components VR decoder with zero firmware code

Perhaps vref source could be optional PWM / DAC input? I know the goal is no firmware, but having a software adjustable threshold is likely a desirable feature. These PWM / DAC are handy as you can PWM digitally or if you have a DAC you can just DAC the thing. This would allow for an adjustable thre...

Re: Limp Home and Engine Protection

I guess error check the temperature profile and trigger an error. Aka if engine is not warm after 10 minutes then limit power. Frozen block, loss of coolant, broken sensor can cause bad temp readings. Limit power to limit the damage. I guess the same for a stuck thermostat. Wrong profile could cause...

DB37 = evil.

How much lower cost is this than a TLE8888? I see thru hole, so that's expensive. STM32 with TLE8888 is about all you need, and it's reasonably low cost.
