Re: Wave strength in racing engines

That picture looked familiar and I finally remembered what it is. The reason behind that setup is because the class rules forbid modifying the combustion chamber, so what he did is fabricate new combustion chambers and then install them as "valve seats". Then there is a 1"+ aluminum "head gasket" th...

Re: Nissan on Frankenso #47

Take a look at your "Warmup fuel manual Multiplier" and "Intake air temperature fuel Multiplier" tables. Currently, at 80c coolant and 34c air your base fuel is being multiplied by 1.06 and 1.9 respectively. This means your calculated base fuel pulse, the fuel you would use under ideal conditions, i...

Those "aviation" connectors cost less than an aviation bolt...

I'm not sure how I feel about depending on a connector that's only available in China. If it's a knockoff of a name brand connector, I'm fine with that because then the real thing can be substituted if so desired and supply is guaranteed.

Still no schematics, but I got the boards and am in the process of testing them in vehicle now (it seemed to work on the bench but I'm having a little trouble). I will say that I think my current design is a bit more than necessary. I included a switch to toggle the chips in/out of DEBUG mode, but I...

What are your problems with the 9926? Is this that low tooth count issue? I understand many honda's have a 3rd signal. Also is your signal a VR? The math has probably been beaten to death here, but if I'm correct I need to be above 350rpm to beat the 85ms watchdog with the 4-tooth cam wheel, and ov...

Was any hardware ever built using this chip? I'm still having problems with MAX9926 on my Honda, and am looking to build an alternative. From what I can tell I just need to bypass the MAX chip on frankenso and connect the output of whatever I build into one leg of the cam/crank jumpers. In addition,...

No VBatt because it's not configured in his tunerstudio project, and I'm assuming it's not hooked up.

Re: Nissan on Frankenso #47

I'm pretty confident that setting the IAC to 0 will not solve anything, and may cause additional problems. My recommendation is to change your VE and ignition tables back so they do not cover your cranking range.

What is your AFR while cranking a cold engine?

I've seen some discussion on other forums saying that many IAC solenoid valves have a built in air leak at 0% duty cycle, and are meant to be at some nonzero value to be completely closed. Something about a failsafe if the valve loses power.
