ADC Alt CAM, Alt CRANK RC filter
On Frankenso schematic, ADC section for ALT CAM and ALT CRANK have a label that said "low pass filter knee at 100kHz typical". Is the 10K before the diode clamp take into account? I don't think it correct, base on my calculation it should have a cutoff at around 1.5kHz not 100KHz. Is this ...

Re: frankenso v0.5 5V rail problem
That's good news. Can you try some load dumps to see if you can get it to oscillate or act erratic? I have added this thread to my reminder list to change on future spins of the board. Thanks for the testing and feedback. Your comments can only make it stronger and better, so by all means don't hol...

Re: frankenso v0.5 5V rail problem
Installed IXTA6N50D2 and bigger inductors. Now it able to handle 3A current without any problem. Inductor are now just warm to the touch and the IXTA6N50D2 is stone cool :D Only thing is that the footprint of IXTA6N50D2 is much bigger than the DN2625 and the bigger inductors barely fit the board. I'...

Re: frankenso v0.5 5V rail problem
No worries. I don't need all 3A on the 5V rail. I only test it at 3A because it is what it rated for. 0.7A probably enough for my car. Only external thing that on the 5V rail TPS and MAP so that should be fine. What happened there? Can you measure your voltage between R1003 and D1002 relative to &qu...

Re: frankenso v0.5 5V rail problem
Here is the video of the Amp reading on the PSU and Load tester: https://photos.app.goo.gl/aFYjF9X9s4emEuPG3 I put a small heatsink on top of the Q1002 but doesn't seem to help much. A bit a smoke came out of Q1002 it doesn't show up in the video tho. It get supper hot this time solder seem to be me...

Re: frankenso v0.5 5V rail problem
With the GND strap connected to the "GND" near JP08, can you capture P901, P902, P1002, and the 5V side of W23 CH1 - P901 CH2 - P902 CH3 - P1002 CH4 - 5V out GND hook to near JP08 Scope video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/fdAp56oue0du6PsD2 In the beginning of video I cycle the load tester @ ...

Re: frankenso v0.5 5V rail problem
Yea I did solder the 100K resistor on the back of the board. I have access to the scope let me know what pins you want to see and I will try to capture it for you. I'm using a BKPercision power supply and load tester. I'm not sure what exact temperature that the FET see but it can definitely melt so...

frankenso v0.5 5V rail problem
I just got my frankenso kit from tindie and assembled the 5V power rail section. I load tested the power supply with 13V input and it can only handle about 1.5A @ 5V continuous load. When I turn it up to 2A @ 5V I notice that Q1002 (DN2625K4) get really hot (~400 C) then the 5V rail went out. It sai...

Re: 1999 Honda Civic stock D16Y8 #25
I have good news and bad news, good news is that I made my own timing light and it works. The bad news is that the timing isn't consistent, it move when the RPM change 0-15 degrees advanced from where I set it at and then slowly settle at the setpoint, it also does the same when the RPM drop or incr...

Re: 1999 Honda Civic stock D16Y8 #25
Just a small update. I had to move the crank trigger input to pin PA8 because the pin PA5 isn't 5v tolerant and now the issue is gone I also ordered an SLC-FREE WideBand controller (http://www.14point7.com/products/slc-free) and I'm also in the process of building an engine simulator heh

Re: 1999 Honda Civic stock D16Y8 #24
Here's the list from QUCS. Do any of these look to have the open collector you noted? They didn't seem to work the way I was hoping or expecting, so I doubt it and it's a small list. I check each of them and most are just general purpose op-amp, but you could convert the output signal to open colle...

Re: 1999 Honda Civic stock D16Y8 #24
The output doesn't look correct. I checked the AD825 and isn't compatible to LM393. The LM393 has open collector output.
LTSPICE doesn't have open collector comparator so I just rig up some transistors

Finally got my car started on rusEfi :D First cold start video: Idle way too high and seen to be running on all 4 cylinders but doesn't sound good (you can tell in the video). I don't have a Wideband install on this car yet, any recommendati...
