Re: Frankenso injector drivers
Would hate to overheat those drivers causing your injectors to intermittently stop working and taking your engine into lean heaven. Lots of Rice tax on a maita engine. I think it would be a better idea to cut a hole in the case or 3dprint a new cover. and slap a fan pointing at the board. Putting a ...

Not much to see - getting the shape right, waiting for new revision of brain board and tall reset button from China. We kind of should have matched the discovery reset button locaion on the brain board but guess it's a bit too late. You could just drill a hole and print an extension piece for the c...

Could it be beneficial to just connect threw an FTDI or similar interface chip?
The PL chinesium brand can be had for pennies and it is a solid serial to usb adapter/chip.

Is there a way to disable or pause the logging function. I was looking around and saw in the output folder a few logs taking up GIGS!. Maybe they can be optimized?(compressed) Also I like the console. But, it needs a serious diet. soo many gauges and images that do not square up when the window is r...

Another way to obtain "cheap" prints. http://dirtypcbs.com/store/print3d SLA prints at 0.95 per gram Density: 1.3 grams per cubic centimeter Am assuming it comes from china so the shipping should be free but you will have to wait an eternity. Maybe you can laser cut a case? http://dirtypcb...

I hope he didnt join cause he took it as if we were trying to rag on him or his board.
I like it, and to be honest no other ems is as accessible.
I would most likely be running a speeduino before rus just cause its so much easier to get it going. Arduino mega can be had for less than 5 euro.

Is it possible to just have the mcu try to compute a new crc or reload the configuration if it failed? or maybe a hardware reset from software.
Perhaps external memory is needed to store these base configs.

If you have any suggestions on how we might be able to reproduce the issues that would be great. Bench testing the discovery board or better yet a full franken board, not sure which version he has. Run it off a couple of batteries to get the internal resistance in series and boot the board then sla...

What were the limitations with this board, and why didn't it "take off"? Time to popuate and time to write the code :( The priority has dropped since an external WBO works better than rusEfi WBO would be for a while. If you have time to populate I would commit some time to make progress o...

Re: anyone managed a straightforward wideband diy??
It depends on the goals. Your engine gets damaged with things like knock. lean operation, or detonation. AFR is really either for emissions, or for a dirty way of tuning power with out a DYNO. I understand that real race cars do not have WO2's, as it's an air flow restriction. They instead rely on ...

Wideband O2 Solutions?
I think we can all agree, at the end of the day AFR information is mandatory. I understand that AEM's wideband solution is the golden standard, But does it have to be that way? What other solutions are available? I see there are plenty of Sensors of various prices. http://www.oxygensensor.net/wideba...

I will buy a speeduino once they have a miata pnp board I am curious to compare. As for pricing I'd say there is no $100 way since wbo alone is $150. Yeah, sounds bullet proof :D Would love to see that μFrankenso. Yeah, I think all AVR microcontrollers come with built in timers, of varying resolution. I think the 2560 has a few 16 bit timers in it. Seems, legit 12kRPM with >0.1 glitter jitter what more can you ask for 8-) . You mentioned Fixed Po...

kb1gtt coming in clutch again with some straight knowledge! :) Thanks again. I agree with you 100% the limiting factor would have to be that outdated AVR chip on there board. But since you mentioned it, am gonna play devils advocate and ask, does the ChibiOS hinder the stm32s capabilities in anyway?...
