Re: Unit tests
What problem are you trying to solve? We have https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/tree/master/unit_tests without any external framework, and jenkins to run it, with results published in github https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/commits/master The ones implied on the advantages of test frameworks I menti...

Unit tests
Hi, what about using a framework for unit tests? They offer out-of-the-box functionality for several repetitive tasks (e.g. assertions), annotations (useful for integration with other tools, such as code coverage or continuous integration servers). Moreover - they display tests results in user-frien...

Re: How to compile the firmware
I think that it would be much easier if we used ChibiOS Studio. That is much easier to install, and offers potential debugging tools that are not currently used. Has anyone attempted to compile with a ChibiOS Studio platform? Is it a hard change? I suspect the key difference is that the underlying ...

Re: EMStudio and rusEfi
Hi, malcom2073 m thanks for your input so far. I am just a candidate to become a contributor to RusEFI and I am thinking about giving a try to the RuseEFI-EMSTune integration, i.e making a draft implementation. However, I don't know how much effort it would take. Can you malcom2073 please share your...

Re: Q&A on source code
Is any C/C++ standard followed as a convention? POSIX, C++11...? And about style - anything else not listed here http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Development:Code_Style ? Added mentioning of -std=c++11 to http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Development:Code_Style I am not a real C/C++ deve...

OK then.russian wrote:Technically Eclipse is optional - as long as you have compiler & make, you can use any editor. Also my assumption would be that compiler is added into PATH in which case you do not need steps #2 and #3 in my experience.

You are right. Anyway, I humbly think that the tips about configuring Eclipse might help other people if they were on the sticky post.russian wrote:And this info is actually at the bottom of https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/blob/master/README.mdmegatroneye wrote:perhaps this info might better go to the README.MD

Re: How to compile the firmware
Hi, I've finally managed to set up my Eclipse CDT and GNU ARM Eclipse plug-in so that the firmware has at last compiled fine, but it has not been a trivial task. There were fare more steps and tricks involved than what is described on the first, sticky post of this thread. Maybe it's time to update ...

Re: may I contribute?
Oh you absolutely may! Separate complete tools would probably be challenging, but a few separate sub-systems need to be created from scratch. Most are features one is a defect: java console self-update: https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/260 C++ https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/416 C++ ...

may I contribute?
Hi, maybe I can happen to be of some use around here. I will explain it. I have to make about a couple of open source little programs or pieces of software during the following months or so. They are intended to become a kind of portfolio. I can choose the language and the platform, within the limit...

Find out the mC used in this
Hi, I know this is not exactly related to RusEFI, but I will try out my luck anyway. Can anyone of the many smart* guys here tell me how to check what mC is used in the Bosch ECU below? I don't know how to get to that information. http://www.bosch-automotive-catalog.com/en/product-detail/-/product/0...

Re: Engine control Logic - enginelab example
Yes......I had a pinched injector wire that i found and fixed, but the injectors are 1000cc/min and one was spraying fuel any time the key was on. Best i can tell it filled the muffler and when the engine started it spray about 1/2 - 1gallon of gas out in a 4x15 foot flaming mess. No injuries but t...

Hello Dan (from Europe) What kind of software guy are you? Seems there are many different flavors, some are embedded, some are higher level GUI guys, and other are hardcore Linux guys, with a larger variety of paradigm's to choose from. Do you have any particular area(s) of interest? Rather high le...

Hi from a SW developer!
Hello! I just want to say THANKS for yet another project that brings free (as in "freedom") knowledge to people. A year ago or so I began to feel interested about cars, how they work and how people can make the industry more "free". EFI arose then as a naturally interesting quest...
