Re: Current status of working STM32 chips
Seems to me that all STM32 in variants of a model at the same, except 100LQFP one is missing pins 176LQFP has, for example (and in some cases timers?), as well as all the peripherals on the ports that don't exist. I would think even the registers are still there for those peripherals that don't have...

Re: Is stm32f4 the right chip?
Everyone licenses the core from ARM, the core is the same, uses the same machine instructions, etc. All the peripherals taped to the core are home-grown and likely incompatible between manufacturers, so pretty substantial rewrite, since the core part is more of a gcc thing than a library thing, and ...

Re: Is stm32f4 the right chip?
I got an email the other day that made me think of this thread. Doesn't look like its fully on-line yet but there's a new MCU from freescale^W NXP. "S32K" - Cortex M4F, 5V, automotive qualified, 112MHz, with 2MB flash and 256k ram. LQFP-176 with open tools supposedly. http://www.nxp.com/pr...

Re: Ignition modules
Ahh, good to know. Shame they aren't a bit more open with the datasheets. It would be nice if the actual PN was on the IC, tooRhinoman wrote:marko wrote:I'm fairly confident Bosch actually gets ST to make their ICs too.
Bosch have their own fab.

Re: 121 pin connector
I'm not sure if it was noticed / mentioned, I was looking into these connectors and found some info at some point. Korean variant is much cheaper (at least at mouser). 1/3rd the price. eg 81p plug is $6 or something vs $20. German variant has at least two subtypes. On motronic ME7.x for VW cars they...

Re: How to compile the firmware
Why do you use sourcery? Can you not get it to work with normal arm gcc? the one formally called launchpad. That's what I've always used for STM32 in the past. Looks like ARM is actually doing the development now.

Re: Ignition modules
Not specifically no. I've been researching a bit, taking apart some Bosch ECUs, etc. Years ago I planned to megasquirt my old (now really old) Audi 200 with 10V 5cyl turbo. (it has K-jetronic mechanical injection, and hitachi distributor based electronic ignition. Hitachi ECU also controls things li...

Re: Ignition modules
Has anyone tried ST ignition driver IC VB325SP (or others, 025, 525, maybe more, some obsolete) http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/datasheet/group2/17/de/78/a8/5c/62/42/eb/CD00003432/files/CD00003432.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.CD00003432.pdf logic input, has diagnostic.
