Re: Bi-fue / dual fuel capability?

As russian suggested, 16 bit values should be enough. 16 bit = 65536, 32 bit = 4 billions

But what about the floats?

Bi-fue / dual fuel capability?

Hello, Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find any topics. Since I plan to play with LPG, but want to preserve also the current gasoline injection, what are the firmware options for doing so? I ran the rusEfi console and found only single maps for fuel, advance, etc... If i...

Re: electronic throttle body control ETB

If external controller should be implemented for the ETB, why not servo signal - 50 Hz frequency (may be higher) with duty cycle from 1 do 2 ms, meaning, 1 ms = 0 degrees, 1.5 ms = 90 degrees, 2 ms = 180 degrees? I got lost in the different ETB types - servo, stepper, ... Also I stand up for only dr...

Re: Frankenso - ECU shield compatible with OEM case / official

Exactly this is my idea. Section by section. The power supply is already soldered. I'm thinking to skip the LCD and the joystick and to use the bluetooth. I'm not aware of the capabilities of the MCU for w/less conf/debug. May I suggest to put a little more space between U1001 and P604? u1001-p604.j...

Re: Frankenso - ECU shield compatible with OEM case / official

Rumble groan moan. It appears the path variable is not a project parameter. So you likely have to create it. As well when ever you change projects you need to remember to change it. It does not change just because you opened a different project. I just got snagged with that as I changed it to go in...

Re: 2001 Citroen C5 HPi 2.0 HPI (Direct Injection)

Unfortunately not enough time to work on my hobby projects now. The last unpublished stuff is stm8s103 based digital buffer that samples the input (active high from rusEfi) and does 80 kHz current-mode PWM to drive the injector. It is in early development phase and only some of the software works an...

Re: 2001 Citroen C5 HPi 2.0 HPI (Direct Injection)

Thank you for your clarification! I'm doing the buffer now and once it works in normal conditions I'll think for the critical conditions. Till now the low current opening cycle and the HV current cycle were always the same.

Re: Frankenso - ECU shield compatible with OEM case

I moved the right cut line with 0.25 mm. The manufacturer didn't want to make the board with spacing less than 0.25mm to the edge. Maybe it isn't a problem at all.

Rev. 0.5

Not red though. There is INJ-12 track (bottom layer) routed right under the upper right (edge cut) side.

Re: Contributions licensing

Am I allowed to get a license if I want to change the code but not contribute back? Can the code be re-licensed by the author especially for the case? This is only a hypothetical question, I don't think I'll ever make a change so important. ------------ (For the second question I'm almost sure, but ...

Re: 2001 Citroen C5 HPi 2.0 HPI (Direct Injection)

PS: the only changing parameter in time is the injector keep-open time (after the high voltage pulse). If the engine is under load or forced, the energizing and HV cycles stay the same. Or at least that I measured with the car at the parking, no driving conditions. PS2: now I'm curious where to buy ...

Re: 2001 Citroen C5 HPi 2.0 HPI (Direct Injection)

The inductor has an inductance of 3.3 mH and resistance of 2 Ohm. The measured current across 0.1 Ohm resistor was ~1A for the steady state (+14V) opening cycle. The high voltage (opening) pulse has current rising to 12A (for the 200us ON(HV) period). The continuous opening current (after the applie...

Re: 2001 Citroen C5 HPi 2.0 HPI (Direct Injection)

I prefer the STM solution for experimenting. Later we can discuss another, more robust (analog) solution. Maybe it is fine to start with current sense resistor and an op amp? A source of carbon buildup is also the EGR valve. I've seen pretty ugly things with diesel engines, but this one (EW10D) also...

Re: 2001 Citroen C5 HPi 2.0 HPI (Direct Injection)

Thank you very much for your activity! It seems that the hard work is going to begin soon. I'll be away for some time, during the week, but I'll do my best to sketch something for the driver. How hard would it be to make a small engine like a lawn mower into DI? If we can get a small low cost engine...

Re: 2001 Citroen C5 HPi 2.0 HPI (Direct Injection)

1st I've updated the first post a little. A list of the periphery connected to the ECU is included. May I ask you to have a look and comment? Thanks! MC33816 comes up as the chip to try for direct injection - hopefully that would cover the hardware side? Unfortunately it seems hard to find this chip...

2001 Citroen C5 HPi 2.0 HPI (Direct Injection)

Since my welcome topic became a bit technical I decided to start a new one dedicated to my project. The first topic is here: http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1245 In few words: I have Citroen C5 2.0 HPi (direct injection). I would like to let rusEfi control the engine. Main reasons ar...

Re: Welcome from Bulgaria, Привет из Болгарии

Hello kb1gtt, Thank you for the warm welcome! The LPG injectors (more look like valves) have 3 ohms resistance and 1.5mH inductance (specification of the most common inductor that drives the armature). I can take more measurements later. According to Autodata the compression ratio is 11.4:1. I guess...

Re: Welcome from Bulgaria, Привет из Болгарии

Well I am doing some basic stuff. Unfortunately I haven't used RTOSes and I have no clue of the multitasking there, preemption, priorities, etc. My experience is in using the STM's periphery (ADC, DMA, timers) in a simple (loop; interrupts) program. Simply said, anything can be done, it depends on t...

Welcome from Bulgaria, Привет из Болгарии

Hello. First excuse me for writing in English. If I knew Russian I would use it with preference :) Now, what brought me on your project and forum. I have Citroen C5 2.0 HPi (2001) engine code: RLZ - EW10D, which is direct injection engine. The car is in good condition and I would like to make it run...
