Re: BMW e34 M5 S38
We have recently added some things to the firmware that may help with the DISA flap switch overs, the next firmware release should contain it. Essentially we have added the ability to set a modifier map for the spark and VE based on another variable. In your case you would be able to set the variabl...

Re: 55p Motronic 1.3 PnP
Pretty much. To do my E30 I installed an M50 TPS sensor, a GM 1 bar map sensor and the individual coils from an M50. However I would recommend smart coils of some kind instead of the older and hard to find M50 ones. I would take a look at the wikis page on ignition hardware. https://github.com/rusef...

Re: 55p Motronic 1.3 PnP
There are also a few barriers to M1.3 PNP, mostly the trap door air flow meter with IAT integrated, the non-variable TPS and 3 injectors wired in a batch.
All of these are fixable but would require time and supplying TPS conversions etc that right now does not make sense.

Re: Coil Negative triggering for rusEFI
It was used on the M30 and M20, I did consider this but for whatever reason the customer does not want to add to the car, this is a bit of a stealth install. http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E30-2-doors/Europe/325i-M20/browse/engine_electrical_system/ignition_wiring/#pos_11 That is the part he is r...

Coil Negative triggering for rusEFI
Been asked to deal with a couple of tricky classic car installs that need to keep the stock ignition systems and use the rusEFI unit in a fuel only mode triggered off the negative side of the ignition coil the way the old megasquirt units used to do it. Current plan is to make a small module up repl...

Wanted to return to this thread and highlight that our MAF algorithm based on this method is working just fine. I have been running the E30 with the MAF sensor as primary load for the last ~3 months, daily driving as primary vehicle and a 300mile round trip to south wales. System is working well, AE...

Yep, and I don't think it has had any changes to the meth since then (appart from enabling it on high-side 1). That style of setup should work for most meth setups, the majority pwm the pump to control the meth flow. Its not great as low flow rates are very poor atomisation due to low pressures. Ide...

It is indeed, It began life as Team Driftweiser and it's undecided if we roll it all under the FPP roof or leave a little separation for business/sponsorship reasons. Either way it's very very attached to FPP. I believe the video there was 2021? If so, first time out with a rusEFI unit. We have had ...

We have been meaning to get something up about the car for most of this year but launching FPP and the shear amount of work running a car at this level takes has delayed things a bit. That said we took 3rd place in Drift League GB at the weekend so it is high time we got something posted. The car wa...

Yep, good timing as Matt said I recently switched my e30 over to the MAF algorithm and I have been really surprised by just how well it works, in 3 or 4 logging drives I have managed to get it running as well if not better than the SD tune I had on there before. Though my e30 is NA and a boosted MAF...

Re: remote tuner? forum deleted my post i think 94 turbo miata
It sounds like you need to investigate if you have a local tuning shop that can help your sort out the air leaks on your car and help you set the rusEFI unit up. Anyone locally that is familiar with MS or Speeduino should be able to quickly sort out a rusEFI tune, I have helped a couple of UK tuners...

Re: Trigger problem with 60/2 and Bosch Quick Start
Do I detect someone with an AVL indicom? The jumping 360 out is a result of the ECU only syncing the crank, with RE in crank only mode then the ECU will guess one of the 360 rotations to be the start of the cycle. For batch and wasted spark this is ok but 3 cylinder your going to want that cam sync ...

In theory yes we could run the M73 engine. In reality, OH BOY is that a BIG challenge. There are a lot of systems on the car that will depend on information from the ECU, the dashboard, the transmission, the ABS and all of the entertainment systems. This is far from an easy car to do this on and the...

Following up on your slack questions here. Couple of things that are not quite right with your tune: Your tune is currently set to use AlphaN. Is this correct? This will only use the throttle position as the load axis of the VE and ignition table, I have no idea how well this will work with the ETBs...

Hi. As discussed the modules are the same as the ones people have been using with MS for years, the documentation at the link 99% applied to rusefi but obviously we are not limited to just wasted spark. Thus no need to wire two pins of the module to one RE output. http://www.useasydocs.com/Bosch_211...

Re: TPS closed ADC value changes
We also had a similar problem and it was due to sensor drift when it was hot. Something to do is check the raw voltages/ADC when the sensor is cold and then warm it up to see if it changes. We were seeing drift in both the low and high end of the sensors signal, solved completely with a Honda CRV se...

Did you convert to a different sensor as the stock M50 crank sensor is VR not Hall?
Only asking for future reference/any one that finds this thread later on.

No, M50tu and later used a different offset. 324 degrees. M20,30,50, S50 and S54 use 84 degrees and M50tu, 52, 54 are 324 degrees. I can probably help here as I have my M20 wired up to run a red label ECU, drove it a couple of years on it before converting to RE. Unfortunately my full tune is on an ...

You will need some ignition packs to drive those coils, the outputs of the RE are only able to work directly with 5v signal smart coils. I have had good success with the VW/Bosch pack - PN 4D0905351 https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Vault-Of-Ignition-Parts That list gives the parts we know work ...

It has been my experience that the piezoelectric knock sensors are able to detect the onset of knock sooner than the ion signal simply because the ion signals seem to be insensitive to that early low amplitude knock oscillation.

1996-2004 Ford J1850
It looks like we might hit a bit of a hurdle with the EEC-V fords like the mustang and Jimmy's Taurus. The dashboards on the Fords from the mid 90s up until about 2004 use a PWM signal for the Rev counter and coolant temp. I spoke to Dave B about this and he suggests it is a J1850 PWM bus and unlike...

Just to add to this a bit, seems some other more mainstream manufacturers are now using sent for the throttle body, I can only assume it is Bosch driving this as that seems to be the common denominator.
