Re: Your First ever rusEFI start tips

I would say to use google to the best of your ability. Many times you can find tunes for your exact engine from a megasquirt or other ecu's that will give you the best baseline possible. Look for things such as injector deadtimes, cranking settings, trigger settings, dwell time, injector size, ve ta...

BMW E28 525E? - Proteus 0.4

A few weeks ago I picked up a 1986 BMW E28 to work on with my brother. It was a huge basket case, but my hope was that it would be a quick turn around to have a cheap running and driving beater. Well, it wasn't. Milky oil lead to sheared headbolts and a cracked block, brakes all needed to be done, s...

Re: 2001 Mazda Miata - Engine #46

@russian, could we get support for Idle Up on an input with fan control?
My AC can stall my engine now if it kicks on at idle. Need to idle up when it comes on and turn on the fans.

That is very strange.... I think a log would be more helpful than a video in this case. Is it losing trigger sync? Looks almost like a rev limiter. Also, get some gas!!

Take a log and upload that as well as the tune.

Re: 2004 Mazda MX5 1.8 VVT #50

Ive run manual idle so far and its worked ok. Might venture into tuning PID since i'm about to hook up AC and I bet the idle will fall too low with manual idle. Are you planning on running turbo? Are you going to switch over to RusEfi permanently or are you planning on still running the stock ECU lo...

Re: 2004 Mazda MX5 1.8 VVT #50

-Coolant temp multiplier looks right. -Cranking advance I would think should be closer to 10 deg. And then I would put the 500 rpm row in your ignition table closer to 10 deg in the 62-99 kpa rows. -I would run 8.0ms of cranking dwell. -2.0 ms of cranking pulse width seems very low for 265cc injecto...

I believe these are the dead times you want to run with stock 265cc injectors.

Re: 2004 Mazda MX5 1.8 VVT #50

I have not touched accel enrichment and my throttle response is perfectly fine. Having a good VE table is critical. Can you post screenshots of your cranking settings, cranking coolant temp multiplier, ignition advance and VE tables? It should start just fine in 2-3 seconds.. -You want to get it up ...

Re: 2001 Mazda Miata - Engine #46

That's some brave rusEfi usage :) Thank you for trusting this enough. Life is about the journey I suppose  I've had paranoia about thermal shutdown. I'm glad to see that even in a plastic enclosure with relatively low air flow, that you are not experiencing thermal shutdown. I'm glad I was abl...

I have used multiple configs of tacho and dizzy out. Still can't seem to get it to work :(

Glad you found an issue! The engines are pretty durable, I doubt you broke anything, and my starter has taken LOADS of abuse with no signs of dying yet.

Does it run good now?

Gwendal, thats awesome! Notes on checking timing: - Make sure you're on the 10 deg BTDC mark and not 10 deg after. -It shouldn't run THAT rough on 10* fixed timing. I suggest making sure there is no timing corrections on, ie any of these correction tables. Screen Shot 2019-05-26 at 10.18.14 AM.png M...

Great news, the offset value was the only thing wrong. I think it was at 110, possibly from stefan's tune, but at 72 (much closer to russians) it worked perfect. Im gonna play with the PID values now and the target table to see if i can make it even better.
