Neat project! I like my air cooled motorcycle (Moto Guzzi Breva) for simplicity.
Some day I may try converting my carb'd '90 Kawasaki Ninja to EFI just because, but for now the carbs are doing a good job.
What is the motivation behind the changes? Or "just because"?

Re: Troubleshooting: setting up the board with pre-compiled
Success now :) As usual it was a user error - though I'm not sure how. When I downloaded the .hex file the first time it included some other lines of text (HTML, actually). I opened the .hex file with a text editor and realized right away that that was not right  So I downloaded the file again...

Troubleshooting: setting up the board with pre-compiled code
I have finally started playing with my STM32, and I've run into some questions and as others come along they may have the same problems. So I'll start by asking my questions here. I have successfully installed ST-Link utility and followed the writeup here: http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&a...

Re: Interfacing with a LCD/tablet dash
Sorry for not being as clear as I could have been, russian, but you answered my questions perfectly! I knew the STM32 could drive simple displays - but I wasn't sure if it would be enough to actually display a dash. From what you said it sounds like it would be on the hairy edge and would probably b...

Interfacing with a LCD/tablet dash
It seems like one of the first things I'd like to do is have a way to display a "digital dash". I like TunnerStudio - but driving around with my laptop on the passenger seat doesn't seem like a great long-term solution. I don't think the STM32 can handle a display or running TunnerStudio, ...

Re: electronic throttle body module
ahha, thank you for a good explanation kb1gtt! It makes more sense now... I knew I must have been missing something.
Sorry for the slightly off-topic question, now back to the discussion at hand!

Re: electronic throttle body module
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the benefit of an electronic TB? I can see how it would make cruise control easier to implement... but I can't imagine throttle response or reliability would be better than a good old cable, especially since most of the cars I have seen people post about are already ...

Re: Quick intro...
He was asking if I'd made any progress on my Hall board yet - the answer is, no - still waiting on a few components, and time! I did have a chance to make sure the ECU connectors I bought worked with the festiva plugs - indeed, they work quite nicely! https://scontent-b-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2...

Quick intro...
Howdy fellow DIYers! You Festiva folks probably know me from FF.com... I've been tinkering with festivas since I was 15, I think I've had 12 of them now but currently only have three. One of them has a 1.6 SOHC from a 93 mazda 323 and the other is a project car, getting a BP (1.8 DOHC). Most days I ...

Re: DIY Hall input board
OK. I ordered 10 of the MCP6002 and one of the others so I have something to compare against.

Re: DIY Hall input board
OPA2340 - that's Digikey part no OPA2340PA-ND. Someone should use MCP6002-I/P-ND just to try it, this one is much cheaper. The MCP6002 is 1Mhz and the OPA is 5.5Mhz - is the MCP going to be fast enough? There are a few other differences too (input current etc) - and I don't know enough about how it...

Re: ECU connectors
Even better - I didn't realize the aspire unit had two of the same plugs. Is the wiring within the plugs the same/similar? I've never looked at an aspire schematic.

Re: ECU connectors
For those looking for the Festiva ECU plug (two plug) I think this is the right one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMP-76-POSITION-MULTILOCK-HYBRID-I-O-CONNECTOR-FREE-SHIPPING-/121192170682?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c379dc4ba It seems to be the same as the one listed on MSquirt for the Festiva, ...
