I'm using a Kingston 16GB card formatted FAT32 on the Frankenso powered from the car 12v. I'll try a small card to see if it makes a difference.

Re: Miata NA 1990, 1.6L stock #21

Some good news and some not-so-good news... Good news first. I agree with @puff - this looks like a mismatch between TS project version and firmware version. Theoretically the best practice is to re-create TS project every time you update firmware, and also to use matching console with it. Yes, crea...

Re: Miata NA 1990, 1.6L stock #21

To resolve the "PB6 req by GPS tx ..." issue you would need to set GPX pins to NONE. If same firmware and same settings I would expect both boards to just write SD logs, no revision-specific issues I am aware of. "SD enabled: Yes ... fs_ready=No" in your logs make me wonder if h...

Attached is current tune, and I have a few problems to ask about. 1...

Re: Frankenso - ECU shield compatible with OEM case

Tell me when to grab that new .pdf For a bare bones Miata ECU we do not need MAX9926 do not need TPIC8101 do not need FT232 - which leaves injector transistors as the most expensive part on the board which makes me wonder how to make it cheaper. Maybe use cheaper transistors at least for fuel pump ...

Re: 1991 Miata #20 Hunchback

There's several reasons why your timing may be (or seem) off. 1) The Trigger Angle Offset was wrong. If so, fix it and move on with live 2) There's something mechanical going on with your engine .... Also: please post your timing table! Thanks for the help. I've been busy with reliability testing a...

Re: Reliability testing

This issue should be easy to address - we will write two copies each time we burn, we would need at least one on read. Hopefully power loss would only damage one copy of the configuration. How about keep an online copy and an offline copy, only update the offline copy, then swap pointers to make of...

I've been playing with the test script to drive the power cycle testing. The raspberry pi I'm using is not very fast and my python is not very efficient, sometimes loses some of the console output. I'll try a faster pi to see if it works better. The test sequence goes like this: 1. Start with ON-tim...

What about flash write cycles on the internal STM32 internal flash? It looks like these are only good for about 10,000 writes. Is there any wear leveling implemented for the space for writeconfig? It might work to close the serial connection to avoid the linux device driver weirdness, but it needs to be 100% reliable for this test. And I'm guessing that the problem is because of the port being open when the USB device resets. I suspect there are other problems. I always restart the java dev c...

Re: Miata NA 1990, 1.6L stock #21

The micro usb is a pain to use with linux. If the device is open, on reset the device name changes from /dev/ttyACM0 to /dev/ttyACM1, and changes back if you reset again. The test script could work with that but would be messy. How hard is it to change to support text console on the mini usb port?
