Re: Frankenso injector drivers

Testing while driving did not go very well. After a short time the thermocouple lost contact with driver package, from vibration I guess, and I did not get good readings. But before that I saw temperatures get up to about 53C cruising at 4000 rpm with ambient temp at 10C on the floor of the car. (It...

Re: Frankenso injector drivers

Check out this this setup before I do too much. I have injector 1 on PD3 to Q407. I tried to apply small blob of thermal grease on the thermocouple to contact the package. (It turned out be too much and made a mess :( ) IMG_20161217_171923~2.jpg I did not set up the old laptop to do logging yet, but...

Oh, cool. What is the make and model of the DMM. Do you have software for it that you can use to capture the data on the PC? Tekpower TP4000ZC I got it a few years ago on amazon, and I see it's still there for $36 https://www.amazon.com/Tekpower-TP4000ZC-Interfaced-Multimeter-Computer/dp/B000OPDFLM...

Frankenso injector drivers

Some day I'd like to get a run like that with one of those thermocouples measuring the injector driver temperature and another measuring the ambient temperature. I honestly thought it was going to need a heat sink. I was expecting the injectors to shut off when it hit the temperature limit. I wonde...

How about a test rig set up with discovery that turns on power and watches for serial data to confirm config is sane? It could run a few seconds then repeat and stop if the config changed. I could probably get my son set that up since he is off school for Christmas.

Yes, TS was connected. was auto-tune running? An easy explanation would be firmware writing to flash while you turn the key off so that flash memory was half-written. I will add some fkash footprint revision number to the LCD screen so that it would be easy to see when flash is updated and when it ...

Re: Miata NA 1990, 1.6L stock #21

I made the return trip yesterday for another 500+ miles added. I found one glitch at a fuel stop. I usually switch on and wait for the O2 sensor to warm up, but this time switched on and tried to start very quickly. It failed to start and I found that the board had lost the engine type setting. It m...

I tried doing the Discovery mod to add the RTC battery backup. I did it on my spare board, and when desoldering R26 one of the pads lifted off the board with it. I think that broke the trace from R26/C28 to the stm32 input. I don't see connectivity from C28 to pin6 on stm32. Also, I tried setting th...

Post cranking goes lean

I've noticed when starting from the engine cold at about 10 C that just after cranking the AFR spikes up briefly. I have seen AFR swing up to 22 for about 3 seconds then settle down to normal. I heard of a suggestion to add a feature to extend cranking fuel for a few revolutions after cranking is co...

How about a logging system for acceleration, deceleration, G-force and GPS tracking? I like it. Track focused. Alternator is standalone.

Not sure if stock CLT wiring is twisted, it's in a sheath and in a tough place to get to on the back side of the engine.

I'll clean up the nasty looking ground I found next.
Thanks for the tips.
