Re: microRusEFI shows CPU Temperature Error with Firmware newer than 2020 Sausage Pizza Day (11.10.2020)

After the op-amp with a 5V input, you should see something more like 2.5V. Can you measure AV5 at the stm32 pin? What voltage do you get there?

Re: 1987 Jeep YJ - Wrangler - i6 amc258 4.2L

He asks if mine runs..... It probably would have a couple years ago. It's just a VIN to me. A project some day, and it has the little bits which I can transfer over. Things like tail lights, fiberglass top, windshield, etc. For now it's just yard art. I plan a tube frame, new tub, etc. I do not know...

Re: 1987 Jeep YJ - Wrangler - i6 amc258 4.2L

I have a 1995 YJ, 4cyl which I bought for the VIN. Do you have any suggestions? I dream of making it a direct injection diesel, with tube frame and new tub. What are your dreams for yours?

Is your mostly stock?

Re: Discrete components VR decoder with zero firmware code

Perhaps vref source could be optional PWM / DAC input? I know the goal is no firmware, but having a software adjustable threshold is likely a desirable feature. These PWM / DAC are handy as you can PWM digitally or if you have a DAC you can just DAC the thing. This would allow for an adjustable thre...

Re: Limp Home and Engine Protection

I guess error check the temperature profile and trigger an error. Aka if engine is not warm after 10 minutes then limit power. Frozen block, loss of coolant, broken sensor can cause bad temp readings. Limit power to limit the damage. I guess the same for a stuck thermostat. Wrong profile could cause...

Hmmmm if etb claims 0% yet MAF = WOT then limit fuel to 10% or ignore high sensor and only use lower power sensor or do something like that.

DB37 = evil.

How much lower cost is this than a TLE8888? I see thru hole, so that's expensive. STM32 with TLE8888 is about all you need, and it's reasonably low cost.

How about 36 dip switches connected to a shift register so you can emulate a 36-1 wheel? 100% hardware and emulates a common crank pattern.

This is where it used to be, see the history on this page, it has a honeywell app note, spreadsheet, and many details about VR's.

Re: Discrete components VR decoder with zero firmware code

How do you search the new wiki for content? I know there was a honeywell app note and spreadsheet that was on the old wiki, it also detailed many specs of the typical VR sensor. I used to search the old forum for "300V VR" but that does not work any more. How do I find it on the new wiki?

Do you have a simulation for this? I'm not fully following how parts of it work. I'm concerned that it would be weak against common mode noise. Can it be adjusted to use the opamp as a differential input?

Would dedicated STM32 that is independent of rusEFI firmware an OK solution, or does that also cross the no firmware solution? AKA dedicated chip, instead of integrated solution.

Re: EFI for small engines

The MRE is very small as is. The TLE8888 chip is fairly small. Sure we could save some space with different less capable chips, but not very much. Perhaps the size of your thumb nail. Why is MRE to large? My lawn mower and snow blower wheel's are not going to buckle under the weight of MRE. Perhaps ...

While your at it I suggest changing the oil prosper switch. It's cheap and a bigger to change. I also understand the injectors will be stuck. You might want to consider just breaking then all out and replace them. I understand even with the head off they are difficult to get out.

Perhaps put a 5.6V Zener or similar voltage limiter on the output of U14. Perhaps something like this. I have not check the watts, so I'm not sure this 1W would be OK, but something like this could be added to clamp the voltage.

Re: FrankenFerrari - V12 Ferrari 308

In Figure 3 of the below PDF, it notes with +/-5V (a 10V swing) you only get 6V range, so I expect you loose about 2V on the low side and about 2V on the high side. The range is often not exactly centered, in your case it appears yours is 1.5V from the bottom rail. https://www.st.com/resource/en/dat...

Yeah, the old push before you pull, that's huge with those connectors. I often give a dab of WD40 to help break them free on the push.
