Re: 1995 Ford E-150
The scope is not in question, or at least I don't think so. It is the operator of the scope that is in question.
It will take me a day or so to simplify the set up, take the photos, document the set up to the photos and post it for you, but I will do that ASAP.

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
In self stim all is good. If I set RPM to 1000 I read ~43hz. Display is steady +_~1RPM. If I try direct connection to my stim @~43 hz the display jumps around between ~2000 and 3000 RPM. Discovery is not plugged into the analog board and I have a ground jumper between my stim ground and Discovery gr...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
Primitovo, Zinfandel! I used to make a lot of that stuff from scratch, crusher, press, demijohns, the whole deal. Had too many unexplained failures so I gave up and just make wine at the local U-Brew. Still relatively cheap and no failures. Back to business. I assembled a new circuit to simulate PIP...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
RIP PC6. Welcome to the cruel world of embedded programming PA5. I show RPM as 239 on the first pass, didn't check the frequency on the pin. The price of a single Discovery delivered to my door, taxes in, is equivalent to a couple of bottles of decent wine, in this part of the planet. Discovery is d...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
What has changed? I wish I could answer that question Andrey. This troubleshooting has become quite a challenge, especially with me not being comfortable with my scope. Anyway, with Discovery on it's own I measure ~ 1.7 v at pin PD1 at a frequency of ~ 53.7hz or so. Connected to PC6 I get no RPM rea...

At this point I am getting no RPM reading at any frequency and the analog inputs update once per second.

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
New day, new attempt. Not knowing if I had problems with my simulator, or my computer, or if it is rusefi related, I thought perhaps a good place to start would be from a known state beginning with my Superstim. I plugged a spare MS into it and opened Tuner Studio on my PC. I've never used this part...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
Things have gone from bad to worse. Now I don't have any RPM signal. I lowered my supply voltage so that PIP is less than 5 volts and connected directly to PC6. No change. Signal is clean square wave ~4.7 v at R312 entry but drops to about half on exit. About 1.7 at R314/R315 but shows no frequency ...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
Latest tests on Superstim not good. I'm assuming it's something I am doing wrong so let's start with the PIP signal on Analog board input 11, Out 11 junction at R314/315 jumpered to PC6.
What components need to be populated on the analog board to make that circuit work?

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
The weirdness continued. I was getting "noisy signal warning" so I thought I'd better get into it deeper. I checked the PIP input with my scope and it was not the nice clean square wave that I expected. I checked the output in my Superstim. It was just fine. Something is amiss with the lit...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
The way I read the data sheet for the OP AMP:
pin 10 is ch3 in+
pin 9 is ch3 in-
pin 8 is ch3 out
The schematic shows:
pin 10 is ch3 in-
pin 9 is ch3 in+
pin 8 is ch3 out
The board is built to the schematic
pin 10 is ch3 in+
pin 9 is ch3 in-
pin 8 is ch3 out
The schematic shows:

pin 8 is ch3 out

Yup. Got the board yesterday, expect parts to arrive this coming Monday or Tuesday.
This will be a new build for the analog board so I can assign inputs to whatever you like. Your call.

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
At this point in time at least, I'm thinking that the most practical compromise for 4, 6 and 8 cyl engines being converted from carb to EFI, and being tuned mainly on the road, as opposed to many hours on the dyno, would be speed density (MAP), 36-1 crank trigger, waste spark, semi-sequential port i...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
I really don't know why Ford did it this way, but it seems to work very well. I know that firing in banks alternately as opposed to all together is supposed to reduce fuel rail pulsations. I have two reasons for staying with the strategy. First of all, it just plain works. Second, I want to retain t...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
The injectors have a common 12 volt supply. They are connected in two banks of 3, so there is one wire from the load side of each bank, two wires to the ECU in total, which are switched to ground by the Mosfets. If I recall each injector has a resistance of ~ 15R so the bank resistance is ~5R which ...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
Good, the 609-3555-ND 20 pin socket is a good number. These are required for both boards The ED2609-ND and ED2581-ND are also good numbers. These parts are for the injector board. What I need is the 6 position and 3 position terminals for the analog board because the part numbers on the BOM show no ...

Re: 1995 Ford E-150
Looks like there is an error on the 6 ch BOM with a wrong part number for P5. I think there should be 2 of ED2609-ND for P1, P7 and 2 of ED2610-ND for P2, P4. Also the 497-11123-1-ND drivers are not available. I think the correct replacement is a 497-11082-1-ND. For the analog board the ED10565-ND a...
