Re: L9779WD-SPI - Multifunction IC for engine management system

Funny thing: L9779 has the same WatchDog question-answer table as TLE8888.
But TLE8888 datasheed just defines answer table for each question and phase.
While L9779 datasheet also provide detailed description how to calculate answers using question, Markov (who is Mr. Markov) chain and binary logic.

.. I'm assume:
12V_MREL ON - stopped engine
12V_MREL OFF - cranking
12V_MREL ON - run / idling

RIGHT .. ?
Nope. 12V_MREL is on in all three states. To archive this you need 12V_KEY to be connected to IGN-1 on picture above.

Re: microRusEFI

TLE8888 will enable MainRelay output as soon as 12V_KEY (connector pin 5) is high.
Check that you are using correct IGN signal for this pin. One of IGNs can be disabled during cracking.

All stepper-related PRs have been merged. Please try.
Don't forget to enable "useTLE8888 stepper" option in TLE8888 dialog.

Short to bat means your load is too heavy for this output.
Overtemp is it time to add thermal pad from pcb to bottom half of case. And from 8888 to top part?

Re: microRusEFI

Not sure why it should happen but that would definitely be a different board name. As is TLE8888 and L9779-SPI seem like more or less the same thing just from different vendors. I think as long as we can purchase TLE8888 we would stay with it? Yes. I see no reason to switch to 9779 until we (you) c...

Re: microRusEFI

L9779-SPI is a candidate for TLE8888 replacement on MRE.
Some additional cool features (comparing to TLE8888):
3.3 V logic regulator
– 3.3 V precision voltage regulator (± 2%) with over-current protection
ISO9141 interface
–ISO9141 serial interface (K-Line)

Maybe something else.

Still on my TODO list.

I don't think we need more flash addressable by the CPU, right? STM32F7/H7 has QSPI module that can map external flash to CPU address map. This is cool feature. I use it to store settings. QSPI flash erase+write is much faster than internal.
Some STM32 already support CAN-FD.

You can use open hw compatible with this FW https://github.com/moonglow/pcan_cantact .
