Audio output

Any consideration towards using the audio amp on the Discovery board for feedback? Maybe some sound in concert with the check engine light or sensor input out of range? Kind of like some airbag modules that start beeping when the light bulb burns out.

Cruise Control

This Ford I intend to fit with rusEFI has cruise handled by the OEM computer. Input comes from one wire, with 5 different states. On is signalled by pulling up to 12v; off is pulling down to GND; set, coast and accel are signalled by various resistance values with reference to GND. Output is in the ...

Re: stm32f429i-disc1 won't connect

Understood. I was more thinking out loud at this point. This thread can be closed until somebody else decides they want to pick it up and make whatever modification necessary to make it work. Perhaps it will serve as a note for somebody else that goes searching to use a 429 they can find that it's n...

Re: stm32f429 won't connect

<t>I'm wondering if the firmware needs some minor adjustments to be compatible with the 429 or if it is the Discovery board that is causing issues. The firmware will load with the ST link utility, but the second comport never shows up on the computer and neither tuner studio or the console will conn...

Trigger wheel setup

Looking for a bit of advice setting up the cam and crank triggers. The engine has three teeth on the crankshaft, each one representing 120° of engine rotation. There are equally spaced teeth and windows with a hall type sensor. There is also a single tooth camshaft sensor that represents 180° on, 18...

Re: stm32f429 won't connect

Ended up getting a 407 Disco board. Loaded the firmware and connected to the console and TS on the first try. Pinout is very different compared to the 429. 429 has probably 30 additional pins as well as the tft lcd. Maybe a board can be spun up if I can get the code working first, maybe I'll use it ...

Re: stm32f429 won't connect

Good to know about the differences between the different discovery boards. Looks like I may have to get a 407 board. I was thinking about comparing the differences in the 407 and the 429, possibly moving pins as required. My concern at the present is that the 439 brain board will not boot up and con...

Re: Greetings

Ford uses something called EEC-IV. It has 60 pins in a three-row arrangement. Later they had an EEC-V starting in 96. It has 104 pins in a four row arrangement.

stm32f429i-disc1 won't connect

I have the stm32f429i-disc1 board with tft LCD screen I want to use with Frankenso kit. I can get the .bin or .hex files to load to the board and verify but the console and TunerStudio will not connect. Device manager reports a virtual COM port with the mini B connection, the micro B connection does...

Greetings

Since I stumbled upon this project and reasonable options for tuning my ride are otherwise non-existent, here I am. The intended use is a 94 Ford Taurus SHO with 3.0 and MTX. The factory ECU doesn't meet all the needs I have and this project seems to be the most economical.
