Re: Hellen 128 Mercedes

I strongly suggest making the IGBTs replaceable in some way, either solder through with heat sinks or spaced out in a way that allows a human to replace them as the IGBTs are the number 1 point of failure on the ignition system if things are not well set up. Primary points of failure on the megasqui...

Re: Audi v8 with ITBs

With the Bosch ECUs there is sometimes "misfire detection" which is only a basic check that a pulse is created on the secondary side of the ignition coil. BMW used this on most of the COP cars from ~92 onwards, it is useful for detecting a coil failure or a problem with firing the plug but...

Re: Honda K24 ETB TPS issues

Interesting, was this a DIY built unit or a JLC built one?
We have found the majority of issues like that have been with DIY built units which is why we have stopped offering kits.
If it was a JLC built board then we may have to ultrasonic the boards in future.

Re: Honda K24 ETB TPS issues

This should not be an issue, the software treats the 2 signals and independent 0-100% signals and then compares what the % of each signal is. As long as the % is the same then the TPS signals are considered to be in agreement and there is no TPS error. By doing this we can have any relationship betw...

RusEFI now has some mazda ion coils for test.
Got me 4pc here and will be sacrificing one to see what we can learn about the internals.

Boots do come off if you pull hard enough and the inside of the boot is just a tube with a spring inside, zero ohms, dumb coil spring.

Just giving this one a bump incase you still need assistance.

Maybe it is worth posting your tune and a log of cranking to rusEFI.com/online and posting a link?

Hopefully someone will be able to take a look through and advise some things that may help you get unstuck.

We have outlined the reason for this decision in the wiki page here.

We hope everyone will understand and appreciate there are good reasons for this with the recent hardware.

While not all of the maps are perfect or ideal for your engine they will give an idea of what you might need to do for yours.

Hello, Can you please tell me if I can use STM32F429ZIT6 instead of ..GT?
The differences are only in the amount of memory, 2 MB instead of 1 MB ... :D
More memory would be totally fine.
Do we know that one is pin compatible and has not other changes?

Re: Proteus - Waterproof, High-feature ECU!

I am not sure but one of the others will confirm. What I can say is that it is not a good idea, simply because we can only really offer support for the chips listed on the wiki page (https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/stm32-readme). With a different processor you are kind of in uncharted territor...

Re: Closed Loop idle issues

Just to note here, the ignition timing tables are advance tables. They dictate the amount of degrees the ECU will advance the spark timing before TDC. If you put positive values you get advance and timing will be BTDC, Negative values are ignition retard and cause the spark to be after TDC. This is ...

Re: Closed Loop idle issues

It also looks like you are trying to combine an incorrect idle advance table with the closed loop ignition timing. Thus the firmware is struggling to cope. Problems I can see instantly: Advance needs to be positive, try the values in the table below. image.png Your idle deadzone is set to 950rpm. Th...

Your problem is you are commanding negative timing values by putting negative values in the idle advance table.

Very little. There are some small changes between 0.4 and 0.5 but nothing significant. The 0.6 is more a reaction to the chip shortage, functions are exactly the same but a couple of chips changed due to unavailability. Changes I am aware of on 0.5: Added Barro sensor Changed capacitors to through h...

I will admit I can only see the need in terms of people making their own algorithms or strategies. The FSIO is a case where MATLAB or SciLab ...

There is a USB header that is designed for a wire in USB, it's through holes so could be wired from either side.

Wait, your trying to use 60-2 trigger setting with a wheel that does not give a pattern for 60-2? I think this may be the route of your random sparking behaviour. I have a feeling this may need a special trigger setting of that high tooth filing into a double -2 gap. Otherwise your trigger is really...

But anyway there are no guarrantees that by the time you send your board to fabrication, these parts are still in stock.

The knock sensors will totally have been throwing a fault code if they have cracked. Kind of common on the BMWs of that age as the age/heat cycles get to them after a while. Certainly the ready programmed transmission unit is the same part number ...
