Re: 2004 BMW 760 N73 "A big mistake"

I had similar problem on n52. Fucking PCV failed, and I guess due to the engine shaking its ass off it kept throwing cam-crank correlation had that too, fix it, no change on the cam sensor issue....its usually just the sensor but on a high miles engine it could also be a plugged up oil pickup. Must...

Re: 2004 BMW 760 N73 "A big mistake"

Well, I've driven it what, 40 miles a week ago? It's in rough shape but at the moment I do not have time to even hook it to laptop :( Steering warning light, check engine light I think Sergey said CAM sensor error and timing chain issue is worst fear, air suspension leaking etc etc. I had a cam sen...

Re: FrankenFerrari - V12 Ferrari 308

The gauges are to help sync the TBs, they read % error from TB12 which is where the actuator is attached so it is always 0. Here it is after I played with it a bit, not prefect but much better. TB sync2.JPG the graph below are the cylinder MAP reading that run the gauges....this looks to be working ...

I tried resetting the TBs with feeler gauges this morning as a base sync while also playing with the ECU software to try to read them all....the feeler gauge method is pretty bad it turns out if my ECU programing is to be believed and this is after a couple quick roughing in adjustments. he linkage ...

Re: MAF vs Speed Density, why do we prefer which one?

Personally, I would always prefer a MAF sensor over a MAP sensor. Precisely because I get directly, always and under all operations, the air mass that the engine is currently taking in. I do not have to correct, adjust or anything else, just directly calculate the injection quantity for the desired...

Re: FrankenFerrari - V12 Ferrari 308

yes! no bad noises, lots of oil pressure, no real leaks, so good so far other than an erratic fuel pressure. I'll get some more gas in the tank and see if that clears up that problem and then try to keep it running....tomorrow's a new day.

Re: FrankenFerrari - V12 Ferrari 308

This is a challenging assembly.  I didn't have room for 2 fuel rails  or to assemble the rail to the TBs then drop the assembly into place so assembling relies on everything flexing enough to pop into place. 20211201_204657-resized-1024.jpg I decided the rail wasn't sitting just right and was torqui...

Re: MAF vs Speed Density, why do we prefer which one?

guys, how about MAD, or Manifold Air Density? pounds of air, instead of pressure(resistance) or flow(g/s) hmmm....if you know the IAT and MAP you can calculate MAD and that is what is done for speed-density math but that is not enough as you need to know the mass of air in the cylinder, so then you...

Re: MAF vs Speed Density, why do we prefer which one?

Trying using speed density on something like a gasoline engine with a variable geometry turbo. You know when the engine can have drastically varying ve at a constant manifold pressure/rpm. I've never run into that setup. I was talking about NA where even small pressure drops in the intake matter so...

Re: Cylinder pressure to TDC system

Just like its nearly impossible to find TDC with a dial indicator by looking for the top, I expect you'll have the same issue only worse with a pressure gauge. If you run a high speed log and and pick a point , say 100psi before and after TDC, then TDC will be ABOUT in the middle. With a dial indica...

Re: FrankenFerrari - V12 Ferrari 308

The new fuel pres sensor is much better, 71mV offset and seems stable.  The oil pressure still reads 0 with the 270mV offset so it appears stable.  The manifold o-rings came yesterday, I bought 3x8mm instead of the standard 3x14.5mm to make it a little easier to assemble and they seems fine.  Just w...

Re: FrankenFerrari - V12 Ferrari 308

Put the cap back on but that was not the issue...it was the tach pulling too much power on the 5V buss so the tach is off-line for now to the throttle is back on. I'm not sure if I completely understand your concern. The output of the header is 2.75 inches then there is a reducer that adapts to 3 inches after that. Would the collector need a restriction afterwards where the dia reduces and then goes back to 3 inch with a taper? What would a choke implementat...
