Re: rusEfI based on STM32F4 (Frankenso) for air-cooled small vehicles

It would appear you do not understand certain things about opamps. Opamps have many characteristics that are important. However with out knowing this level of information I cannot help you. It's not a question of if I want to help you, I simply don't have enough information to be able to help you.

Re: rusEFI OpenGDI ECU

Is @AndreyB suggesting a board which accepts low side pulses and generates pulses for GDI injectors? Done up as a stand alone box. Similar to the high Z to Low Z injector modules that can be obtained for people who desire low Z but have high Z ECU.

Re: S1000RR Motorcycle Engine

I understand there are different algo's and different methods for how the injectors are blended. Of course you can do lots of things with FSIO, and you can potentially implement many different algo's with FSIO. For example, If load above 50% then injector PWM = 20% if load above 60% then injector PW...

Can't staged be done with flex IO? AKA if RPM or load is above xyz, then injector on, else injector off.

Re: Hello from Norway! VW Beetle w. 3D printed intakes, 2x DBW and staged injection

I think the 5V7 is absolutely critical and not very redundant. I expect you'll find 5V1 is what you really need, which will probably partly conduct during normal operation. I'm assuming you understand the 7805 is not the only thing that can dump energy into the 5V rail and that is why this diode is ...

Re: Hello from Norway! VW Beetle w. 3D printed intakes, 2x DBW and staged injection

Are you familiar with the MAX9926's 85mS watch dog? You may want your layout to allow for the option of different modes. That watch dog has been a thorn when cranking. The 5V7 on the 5V is likely to allow more like 6 or 6.5V before it starts to really clamp. This can be catastrophic for many chips o...

Is this a Ford Ranger with an electric motor? The ECU uses an STM32, but I don't see injector or ignition controls. Am I reading the schematic wrong? I was thinking it might be a Norway re-badged rusEFI, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Could I be looking at an electric truck? https://openinver...

Re: Common Rail MC33816 dev board - 4 injectors GDI

The attempt of a boost voltage valid LED on R0.3.2 does not work. It appears the diodes do not drop the voltage enough and U1 gets destroyed. The below circuit was suggested in Slack by mck1117 and was drafted in LTSpice. This circuit or similar should probably be Incorporated in future spins of thi...

Re: CAN support

By far the most poplar is the M12 5 pin, followed by the M12 4 pin. I think you'll find the M8 is small and easily damaged. However if you have a fairly low stress environment, and you have space concerns, the M8 is smaller.

Re: Hello from Norway! VW Beetle w. 3D printed intakes, 2x DBW and staged injection

A very common igniter failure is caused by not gaping your plugs. Over time the gap gets larger and the primary voltage increases until the driver fails. When the igniter breaks then the voltage goes back up and you burns up your primary wingdings. All the car's I've owned have been from the mid 80'...

Don't forget the Waltech WO2 option. It could be made into an integrated option. Some code porting would need to happen. Also would be good to select automotive grade op-amps if reasonably possible.

Re: Uber simple no PC ECU

Looks like this is feasible. See below snap shot of a LTSpice simulation which shows a analog MAF signal being used to vary a fuel pulse from around 1 mS up to about 10mS. The pulse is triggered via a single pulse on the crank. R13 could be a POT which could allow you to adjust rich vs lean ratio. T...
