Re: Nissan on Frankenso #47

Can you send me your Honda TS project so I can try your settings in my car? I want to element ate the possibility that I am doing something wrong here. Tune is really out of date with current version, a lot of config-breaking changes since then. I'll take a look at the tune, and I'm sure a few othe...

Re: Nissan on Frankenso #47

See my edits above, your setup is already more than sufficient to run full sequential fuel and ignition. I'm having a hard time articulating this, but I think the part you have wrong is thinking that more precision is better, when that's not necessarily the case. I'm not familiar enough with the mat...

How can an engine work on guessing game between 180 degrees and pretend to be accurate? Are your all other engines like this? I have tested it on a F4, and can confirm it works flawless from their software. All at native USB. I'm no lawyer, but upo...

I've seen some discussion on other forums saying that many IAC solenoid valves have a built in air leak at 0% duty cycle, and are meant to be at some nonzero value to be completely closed. Something about a failsafe if the valve loses power.

Could this be another case of the max8266 automatic gain issue? what do you mean ..?? spikes ..?? or "different tooth readings" .. ?? Never mind, I did the math and I believe you would have to be turning at less than 12RPM for that feature to become a problem. More of an issue for extreme...

Although I suppose it depends on what side of the head you put the dizzy. Now that you mention this, I thought it through and realized the Honda distributor is on the tail side of the motor, and thus spins clockwise when viewed from the top. I don't have a good source for the angles, but luckily we...

Re: 88 Toyota Camry 2.0 (3SFE)

I've done a lot of research on this over the past few years, so get ready. Honda has 3 wheels in the distributor (all cam speed). 24 tooth for primary trigger, 1 tooth for cam position, and a 4 tooth for quick startup (about 10 degrees BTDC for cranking) With the Honda wheels, one can do batch fire ...

Re: 88 Toyota Camry 2.0 (3SFE)

Honda "4+24" was a side effect of trying different combinations of the three Honda signals. I am not sure if that trigger is enough to synchronize and identify your exact shaft position Honda wheels are evenly spaced. 4+24 can get you running batch fuel, but no sequential. No idea if the ...

For Windows builds kicad bundles all the dependencies in the same folder so it's pretty self contained.

As for Linux, it will probably not be as easy, considering the work I had to do to go back to 4.0.7

I guess it doesn't really matter either way. It will probably come down to space constraints as well a actual power supply design. If an integrated supply is used, I can't see it being particularly complicated to lay out in either location. I guess it doesn't really matter either way. It will proba...

these are bad examples - I believe these features have nothing to do with hardware. factory narrow band 02 sensor is just a universal analog input and EGR and EVAP is probably just a generic low side. I don't really mean these examples in particular, the same could be asked about AC control, MIL, o...

In PnP applications, what sorts of OEM features are we planning to support? Do we want to support factory O2 sensors? What about EGR valve? EVAP purge?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, how far do we go? What about features only on some models of a much broader range?

Just split or even stack the boards like some commercial PnP ECUs :) One generic with the mandatory stuff, one per vehicle type with specific stuff. Done cleanly this would have no effect on software. This is essentially my idea but said a lot more succinctly. And as a way to avoid a significant di...

For the universal connector, may I suggest the Ampseal 776164 series? This is the connector used on the microsquirt, and would allow us to use the existing harnesses available for it. Unfortunately, we would likely need to use 2 connectors to get as many connections as we want, and so we would want ...

Bit of a side question, but do you have a hot air gun? If not, they're totally worth it. $30 on ebay plus $10 or so for a syringe of solder paste and you'll wonder how you got along without it. Speaking of OEMs with multiple fuel tables, my 91 Honda VTEC (variable valve lift with map sensor) also uses a pair of fuel tables that are switched on and off with the VTEC solenoid, giving the b series motors their distinctive kick when going to high rpm. Something I would like to pursue is VTEC w...
