Re: Two stroke Efi (#14)

This would not be a simple circuit. 50% duty cycle means it's not just a low pass filter. I played around some with QUCS looking at adding a diode and cap to function as freq to voltage converter. So far no easy solution. I might have something that produces .9V to 1.1V, but that range is blah, and...

Last I heard, 433MHz is not allocated for unlicensed use in Regions 2 or 3- colored blue and violet in the image below. However in Region 1- Europe, Africa, parts of the middle east and northern Asia- i.e. Russia and such, it's okay; colored amber in the same image. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikip...

Yeah, it's liquid... Radio Shack brand catalog 64-021A from what I can tell. Don't think it's available any more though.
But even the pasty stuff would work as long as you have enough to smear around a bit. ;)

Re: 2003 Dodge Neon (#9)

1K pull-up is kind of strong; maybe 4.7-10K is more apropos. You need a fast transition from high to low and 1K will adversely affect the slew rate, if the chip is even really able to reliably overcome that at all.

Well, this was a little unexpected turn, no? I mean "unexpected" as in it seems a little early to have your things co-opted out to some other project. Andrey, I hope you receive product, without charge, so you can validate your code works against these boards, otherwise someone else owns it.

Any progress with the TMS570? Ive fallen in love with it so I've got a launchpad2 to have a play with. It seems erika rtos has support for it so when I get chance I'm going to read up on it. Erika (http://erika.tuxfamily.org) also supports STM32F4DISCOVERY board too. That might make it easier to cr...

AFAIK it's BGA.

However, I've noticed a trend in some communique suggesting pre-pop boards, so the few things that might need good reflow might be able to be performed in advance?

New TI Hercules LaunchPads coming soon.

Can't say much, but the new one should be better than the LS1224 as found on the LaunchXL2-TMS57012.
If there's any interest, I'll post more information as it comes to me, and I'm permitted to do so.

Re: Greetings from AR, USA.

It's quite common for an A/C compressor to cycle- if it doesn't cycle you probably have a problem. My '81 VW Scirocco did it; my '84 Chrysler Laser Turbo did it under ECU control during moderate to heavy acceleration; the '88 Toyota 4Runner does it; the 2000 F250 I used to drive for work as well as ...

Re: Combustion gas detection

No real need to measure the pressure building up, just knowing there's a leak is enough to tell you there's a problem.

If you apply pressure to a cylinder, the cooling system is full, and you get bubbles in the radiator, you have a problem.

Re: Combustion gas detection

Do you have the tools to perform a leak-down test?

If so, pressurizing the cylinders while monitoring the pressure in the cooling system will let you know right quick if the head gasket, cracked head or cracked block are an issue.

What features does the TMS chip have that make functional safety better, or decrease the chances of EMC issues? Functional safety -- redundant CPU with validation across the two processors to ensure the code is executing the same. AKA neutrinos are not manipulating the CPU's execution. EMC -- Does ...

Injectors < ~6 ohm, typically 2-3, are low-Z; > 10 ohm, typically 12-16 are high-Z. 1K ohm or greater is almost unheard of. Mitsubishi and others are currently using low-Z injectors on some port-injected models, so like I mentioned, a bit of research... so on and so forth; you should be fine. *cheers*

Not sure I'd say "most" injectors are high impedance, but without numbers to prove it I won't say that. What I will say is that Toyota, Honda and most other manufacturers have used both low and high impedance injectors, so you do have to be careful; a little research would go a long ways h...

Not sure if it's been mentioned or considered, but even if you get raw transfer data, or frequency information, from a flow bench, that information is only valid on THAT flow bench. A change in duct shape or a bend, no matter how subtle, can create reversion which affects the sensor reading without...
