Re: 2004 Mazda MX-5 1.8 VVT Frankenso project
I'd highly suggest getting the assembled version. The small difference in price is well worth the hours spent trying to figure out what goes where and SMD soldering  I have an 05, so also VVT. My assembled board came with the 64 pin connector soldered on. With my kit I got the 64 pin harness, 7...

Re: Frankenso - ECU shield compatible with OEM case / official
Ok, cool. How do we determine how the inputs and outputs are set? Is this all done through tunerstudio? A youtube of how this is done would be great time saver. edit;4-6-18 Ok, not so cool. I just hooked up tunerstudio. And this is diabolical. rusefi pinout.PNG Let's take injector 1 for example. It...

VSS vehicle speed sensor has to be an input-capture timer-capable pin https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/blob/master/firmware/config/engines/mazda_miata_vvt.cpp mentions boardConfiguration->vehicleSpeedSensorInputPin = GPIOA_8; That would be PA8, which should be according to a thermocouple module - w...

What are the "Rusefi harness" numbers in reference to? Just added to the wiki: "rusEfi harness" does not mean much - that's just the way I bundle 4-5 wires together on my cars Gotcha. Also, does a table exist that maps the STM Pins to the 64 Pin connector? The way it comes assem...

have you tried some way to power (miniusb or +5v) and microUSB for communication? This reminds me of https://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1418 Perhaps my Laptop won't put out enough amperage through the Mini USB port. The MicroUSB port is blocked by the case. Stefan's thread was helpful...

Got the unit in today. However there seems to be an issue. I can't seem to use any ports to connect the RusEFI to TS/Console. I took the board out and connected the MicroUSB (console) cable with the MiniUSB (prog) and I had no issues connecting. With the board receiving +5V from an external PS: The ...

Is only the ECU showing the high voltage?
I had a similar issue with an MS3X that was receiving a totally wrong voltage somehow. It turned out to be the patch harness. NBs have different pinouts between the years. I believe 03-05 are different than 01-02. Just something to look out for.

Also, are the STM32 boards sold with the Tindie RusEFIs sold with the RusEFI specific brain boards?

Re: 2005 Nordic Fjord Pine Tree Green MIATA
Boost control should just be a normal low-side driver like an injector, relay, etc, plus appropriate software (which doesn't exist but I've thought about implementing for my car). CAN hardware is fully present and functional. I'm close to building a screen that lets you change some parameters on th...

EBC? what is EBC? External boost controller? I do not have one so I cannot elaborate :( Depends on what signal yours need and what kind of control you need. Electric boost controller, solenoid, I believe PWM driven. Also, is it possible to order the full rusefi with no screen? Or are all those unit...

Re: 2005 Nordic Fjord Pine Tree Green MIATA
CAN is a thing on the Rusefi right? Some rough can code exists. I don't think it does very much at the moment. However if there is a need, perhaps it could bump up in priority. Right now I don't think anyone has any real uses for it. I think the closest use we have for it was to control an OEM gaug...

After scrapping my NB1, I picked up a very clean NB2! This NB2 has definitely taken a different route than my NB1. I picked up FM VMaxxs and FM sway bars and have been autocrossing the car. I'm looking to throw a GT2554R back in once I'm off active duty. Now the "break in" period of me kee...

64 Pin Denso connector solder points
I ran into a bit of an issue when building a harness for an NB1 recently. I was using DIYAutotune's harness wiring and a Rusefi 64 pin breakout board. To get the stripped wires into the holes on the board, I'd have to remove strands. When I used an NB2 breakout board, the holes were plenty large for...

Can you please post a picture of your board? I am mostly interested in the breakout section wires. Do you still need the picture? I had to get rid of the car unfortunately. I was doing some suspension work, and noticed some flaking metal on the frame rail. I peeled it off, and along with it came 4 ...

Neat idea if we want to be able to control a WB on-board. Cost effective as well for LeMons teams.

Re: 1990 Volvo 240DL
Good news! Turns out my family friend owns a shop, that used to specialize in Volvos back in the 80s and 90s. I checked out the attic and there are literally HUNDREDS of BNIB OEM Volvo 240/940/740 parts - including a box of broken ECUs, all of these have either the 35/25 pin bosch connectors. I've a...

Re: 1990 Volvo 240DL
Thank you for all the clarification! Okay, so I’ll keep the single coil setup. If I used a breakout setup for each connector (think of 2 connectors converted to 1 franksenso connector). Does that sound possible? This car will be my girlfriend’s car to drive, so I’d like to be able to throw the stock...

Yes! More Volvo content! I think you're #3, #2 keeping the original engine. My '93 wagon is turbo swapped, and Ford T5 gearbox swapped, along with some suspension changes. I have ~1500 miles on my RusEfi swap, and 2500 miles on MegaSquirt 2 before that. The wiring wasn't too terrible on mine. The c...

Picked up a handsome Volvo the other day to play with/let my girlfriend drive when she comes back from school. Has 215k miles on the clock, runs and starts perfectly everytime. Hooray, another Volvo wagon! I'm running rusefi on my 1993 240 Classic, albeit with the original b230, plus a turbo and a t5 manual transmission. Hey same! Mines a 1992, however. I’ve heard there’s some finagling involved with the FI computer and the ignition computer. Any idea how you’ll start the...
