Re: Fw. improvement - PANIC BUTTON

The way I read this, there are two somewhat independent requests. 1. Hit button - get log event. This is a pretty common feature in a lot of software I use. The idea is a very sound one. Particularly in long datalogs, it's often hard to pick out the moment(s) of greatest interest. If you have a butt...

In a hostile environment, nope.
Bluetooth is a joke. Totally vulnerable to brute force plus the keyspace is tiny.
WPA2 is close but still dicey.

Re: EFI Part numbers and sources READ ME

Bosch LSU 4.9 Wideband sensors. Be very wary of ordering ebay/amazon/aliexpress for these sensors. They're very heavily counterfeited and copies often do not function as well as legitimate sensors. There appear to be two variants of this sensor element. One has larger holes in the tip, one has small...

Re: "Proteus Little"

Small suggestion: Use a ESP32 module instead of the one you have chosen. (it looks like HC06 maybe?) The ESP32 can do Bluetooth AND Wifi and is generally much more flexible. And they're very inexpensive (~$4 single here in US, < $2 in the quantity I buy them for another product, <$1 for the SoC only...

EFI Part numbers and sources READ ME

If you're interested in using rusEFI to run an engine, there is a very good chance that you're going to need to obtain sensors, solenoids, injectors, etc. to use with your engine. This thread exists to archive part numbers for common and useful parts along with places to get them and approximate cos...

This is the schematic of the triple VR decoder used in the Honda ECUs. Literally millions of this circuit were in production - every Civic and integra produced from 1992 to 2000 used this.

Re: On-board MAP sensor

I've used the MPXH6xxx sensors with great success. They come in a ported version but they're MUCH physically smaller than the 4250AP. They come in 2.5bar (6250) 3bar (6300) and 4 bar (6400). They're SOP8 so easy to solder, very linear, good temperature characteristics, very high quality, generally a...

I think my asks are going to be more of a 2.0 than a 1.0 but... Error handling is soooo critical. I think that this splits into two pieces: 1. Define conditions that cause an error count 2. Define how to respond to a given error The nice thing about this is that some existing functions (like a rev l...

Why this forum exists?

This forum exists for a simple reason: many users struggle to get their engine running well because of the garbage they put in, not the tool they are using. Just as it is possible to create ugly pictures with great paintbrushes, it's entirely possible to make a great engine run very poorly with a gr...

^^^ what he said. Additionally, it's fairly easy to check if cylinders are assigned to the wrong sensor. 1. in closed loop, make a significant but non-life threatening change to the fueling on a cylinder (10-20%) 2. Observe which sensor(s) see the AFR deflection 3. Rinse, repeat #1 and #2 until all ...

I would completely make use of the PE vs. non-PE modes on my RB20DET skyline because it's so easy to make boost at low throttle angles going up a hill.

Re: AFR target table

For cable throttle: 1. VE table for airflow and just airflow. 2. Pressure vs. maximum lambda (leanest allowable commanded) Why? So you don't end up at 1.1 lam @ 220kpa @ 3000 RPM on a small-turbo car 3. TPS vs RPM for power enrichment mode enable 4a. Power enrichment: RPM vs target lambda table, pre...

Re: AFR target table

I think this way of handling fuel (driver demand based, essentially) is a great idea. I'd do a similar thing on my skyline as it's entirely possible to get a couple pounds of boost at 3000RPM at 15% throttle going up a hill - and I have no desire to be at .8 there. Being able to modify or otherwise ...

Post startup enrichment is pretty common...

extra% vs CLT is very simple. works fine.

Some systems adjust the target lambda / eq mix. Some add %. As long as you're not trying to pass emissions you can be very crude.

Andrey, you're making this too hard. CAN is just like ethernet or USB (well not JUST like) - it's a transport mechanism. The "semi-proper" thing to do is put a strain gauge on the shifter. Many higher-end sequential transmissions actually require this. The idea is that the strain gauge picks up force on the shifter, momentarily kills power from the engine (usually kills spark) and allows the shift to happen ...
