Re: M70 55pin DME Connector board connection to Proteus 0.7.0

A lot of your loom will be layed out similar to the E30 M20B25 loom. As you say your injectors will be 3 in a group. There is not really a way to handle this on a stock rusEFI ECU as the most we have tried so far is 2 injectors per output. If you want to keep the M70 55 pin plugs I think the only th...

Re: Hellen Ford Taurus SHO

I just did a mustang cobra 4.6 engine on an MRE if the info is of use here.

One thing we may have to sort out is the EEC-V era cars seem to use a weird coms protocol for the rev counter and coolant temp.
J1850 was used from 1997 to 2004 according to Dave.

What is the relation between the document above and https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Vault_Smart_ECU#knock-intervention content? Matt has made some progress back in November https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/pull/3396 - three new configuration parameters and some logic between those were added,...

Re: Modifying Citroen Throttle sensor for rusEFI

Well sad end to this one as the Citroen pedal turns out to not be temperature stable enough for use with RE. When it warms up the low point gets lower and the high point higher resulting in lack of pedal travel and depending on when the pedal was calibrated (hot or cold) a situation where the high p...

Did we also not manage to test a 60-2 to something like 20k rpm at which point the trigger simulator ran out of band width?

Re: Software knock processing

To follow up a little on this, we are certainly getting VERY solid data out of the knock sensors, retarded timing and low loads on the dyno are able to set a base line for that specific engine with enough quality we should be able to determine knock from normal background noise. A brief plan for the...

Re: PWM Fuel Pump

I tried recently to get a mustang cobra motor running using the stock FPDM without much success. I set it up and gave the module the required 12v 100hz pwm (20-50% duty IIRC) with no success. GPIO worked perfectly to provide the output the module needs with the table working just fine to ramp the PW...

Re: Proteus trigger problem ...HELP

The trigger will work fine with a VR but the wiring may not be correctly shielded against noise.

What did you use to wire sensor? Strictly it needs to be decent shielded twin core.

Number one cause of poor crank signal on stand alone ECUs with VR is noise through poorly shielded wiring.

Re: Proteus using spare ign outputs

Regardless of current the 5v may not be quite enough to get a relay to activate. It's normally enough to keep one open once it has moved but not to get it to start moving. I guess the question is, what are you after an extra relay for? Is there another way it could be handled? I am also curious how ...

One of the highside outputs should be able to do it though.

Due to some quirks of the setup we have a highside driving a solid state relay on the dirft car.

Yeah, there really isn't much to say at the moment, we are mostly just gathering what data we can to understand the nuances of the hardware.

Re: Software knock processing

Right now there is not a lot to say. Which would be why you cannot find a lot. We take the signal from the sensor and pass it through and FFT to determine the noise at the chosen frequency, we spit that out as a raw noise level value. We have the ability programmed in to select a sensor based on the...

Re: Classic Mini 5 port injection (siamese ports)

Does doubling up the outputs in the software like that not produce a error for the pin conflict? Agreed on the A-series you have to inject with the valves open, it's just a strange quirk of the design. There should be no problem at all connecting one injector to two drivers so it is pulsed twice as ...

I have cut the detection lines to the TLE8888 before with no downsides but did not want to do that unless someone was having issues. There are some traces just to the right of the additional drivers that do the detection, it all still works with the detection lines cut. IMO if it is impossible to di...

Staggering the firing may help if there is an issue with knock as it can/may slow the burn. Stagger is more of a choice between lighting lots of mixture and the pressure coming up too quick or delaying one spark and risking hot over pressurised mixture near the end of combustion. Best thing you can ...
