Re: How to compile the firmware
This will make the local copy of the whole bunch of not needed stuff - hardware files, etc. That's a pity there is still no known way to copy just the source files required for firmware build.

Re: Esp32 Tunerstudio Wifi
What if using ts just for configuring, while analyzing tracks in logic analyzer? Saleae now have several analog channels, plus here are (if i am not mistaken) opn source variants (sigrek?) - but this would require saving logs in those formats..

This could be a handy tool to make timestamps of interest in the logfiles... This would probably make the further analysis of logs a bit easier.

Re: Feature Requests - Feature Bounty Program
Just a thought: with all these wireless connectivity options, security becomes sort of a concern. I'd suggest to implement a 'read-only' mode for such communications, to be enabled/disabled either with a physical jumper or a password-protected checkbox.

Re: R42 Board, for V8 engines.
Let me know when (if) you start selling it - I would be happy to by one of these. :D The advantage of esp32 is that it can be used not only via bluetooth, but also as a wifi (dunno, either a client, or an access point) The drawbacks are: these boards are probably trickier to set up, plus BT is BLE-m...

Re: "Proteus Little"
Nice! Couple of dozen components are on the other side of the board - probably need to be soldered manually, but that's okay. If there are some extra pins abailable in the connector - I would add an onboard pull-up to 12V resistor for the vehicle speed sensor + corresponding pins. What's the purpose...

That's an awesome trick! Haven't heard of using such sensors in mass production vehicles. I'd like to see the implementation of such a solution - I mean, the sensor part number, its proper location, etc.

what's the usual way of checking engine temperature? from the coolant temperature sensor? what if there's a crack in the rad, and all the coolant has run away? will the sensor still provide valid values? i mean to say, for the peace of mind coolant level sensor is a must.

Re: Full JLC PCB
you mean to say pb5 and pb6 of stm32f405rg56 are not 5v tolerant? according to the datasheet, they are! or they are only 5v tolerant as general GPIO, but not for CAN purpose? is it a 2 layer or a 4-layer board? you can still use it: replace the can transceiver with 3.3v-powered one, cut the 5V suppl...

STM32F042K6T6
even though it is in extended parts, for a batch of 5 boards it will be even cheaper.

Re: FrankenFerrari - V12 Ferrari 308
In my case, the needle in the cluster was driven by voltage from 0V (full tank) to somewhat 12V (empty), but it's electronic circuit there, not just a winding. In your case (old-style dashboard) this winding is driven by current, so may be you don't need it that difficult, and simple pwm will do.
