teamviewer alternatives?

teamviewer remote desktop sharing tool does not like me any more, they suspect commercial usage. What are some alternatives with least limitations?

skype? maybe something self-hosted since I can open port to real internet or run a proxy? need short term remote sessions with remote control.

Windows RDC would require changing password for each session and that's annoying, need some short-term authorization mechanism.

I use vnc with a fellow at work. He sets up the port then it's fairly simple for me to connect.

Which VNC are you talking about exacly? Looks like many compatible products using similar protocol. RealVNC or else? URL?

There are many VNC's out there. ReaVNC is fairly good, same goes for TigerVNC or TightVNC, basically they all do the same thing. I recall one will allow for auto screen scaling, which is nice, while the others require you to specify the scale after you are connected. I haven't done it for a while, so I forget which one does the auto scaling, I think it was TightVNC, but I could be remembering that wrong.

When I do VNC, the fellow on the far end will setup a port forward for his router, as well he sets up a listening viewer. Then on the "to be viewed" side, I right click the TightVNC icon, then I select "attach listening viewer" I put in his URL, Port number, user and pass. Then my screen is shared. The connection is initiated from the "to be viewed" end, so firewall, NAT and other such networking issues basically do not exist.

Anydesk

As for VNC if you use a vpn software like NEOROUTER you will bypass those firewall, forwarding, etc.
