Orange 2G-IOT is a smaller and cheaper than raspberry single board computer from http://www.orangepi.org/ - this one claims wifi and 2G GSM model.

orangepi are definitely trying - they have a bunch of boards over the years and still developing new ones.

Orange 2G-IOT is a bad product unfortunately. Out of the box with official linux image just WIFI settings applied we get kernel bug

Code: Select all

While eBay is handling my return I am using this as a chance to learn, a couple of interesting discoveries:

1) for someone power supply/USB power cable quality was making a difference in WiFi quality (not for me) - http://www.orangepi.org/orangepibbsen/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2794

2) wow, another one:
The machine doesn't boot properly with 16GB SD cards because of lack of power (it is not because the card could be damaged or something similar). So, 8G class 10 must be used instead (it seems that as larger the card, bigger the consumption).

Sweet, 10.1 inch touch LCD screen for $59. I wonder how well it's supported, I see a 3 out of 5 star rating, but also only 2 reviews and 3 orders.
