Yeah. I could have EASILY seen 10% jitter on the scope. That's huge.278 RPM 2900 pulse 317 uS variation with DIYAutotune sensor modified sprocket 317/2900= 10.9% jitter 1 degree of rotation takes 599uS. So that's about .5 degree accuracy.

Re: who wants to port to Power Architecture?
As time goes new things are happening:
SPC5 MCUs overview page http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/automotive-microcontrollers/spc5-32-bit-automotive-mcus/spc5-mcus-for-high-performance-applications.html?querycriteria=productId=SS1690 now mentions GTM (whatever it is) instead of eTPU on later SPC57 models.
Also there is http://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/spc57s-discovery.html which seems to be the first spc57 discovery board.

GTM doc

Seems like it's another closed technology with paid tools:

Basically forget it.

NXP has released the source code and binaries for the e200 GCC compiler with VLE extensions back in 2017. https://www.nxp.com/support/developer-resources/run-time-software/s32-design-studio-ide:S32-DESIGN-STUDIO-IDE?&tab=Design_Tools_Tab
