Please stop posting new forum threads. I will merge this one into your other one tomorrow.

In case of new threads I would have to suspect your account.

Merged the three open topics into this one, please try to keep the discussion of this Frankenso to this topic.

With the way the soldering looks it absolutely is not ready to plug into any kind of power.

If you have powered it up already you may have ruined your board.

Have you been able to look at the frankenso build information I posted and the video to see the quality of soldering you need for your board to work correctly?

Im 100% not surprised it let smoke out. Did you fix any of the obvious shorts or misaligned components? These kits expect a certain level of assembly ability. Getting it Because you are broke is going to end up costing you more money. For $480, the hellen would have been a smart investment.

so when I plug in the ECU it does not light up or turn on at all when I turn on the ignition of the car it only turns on and lights up when I plug in USB power. tuner studio is also not talking to the car at all and none of the gauges are displaying but it says that it is connected

Why exactly do you ignore my answer at https://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=42747#p42747?

PS: considering the overall state of this project it could be more complicated. Please use digital multimeter and schematics to confirm that Frankenso makes 5v. I suggest checking for 5v on red Frankenso while green brain board is removed.

Wait you connected 12v to this and fitted it into a car?

Have you done anything to rectify the soldering issues?!

yes I fixed any soldering points that looked very bad and fixed the capacitor that was smoking

Also the voltage does not drop when I unplug the battery to the car

Something is really very badly wrong with your build as there is no way the voltage should be doing what you showing in the video.

I am sorry your kit may now be irrecoverable at this stage.

You may also have done permanent damage to you car by connecting it after we pointed out it is not ready.
