Proteus triggel wheel sensor setup

Hey Everybody,

I'm having some trouble getting the trigger sensor to work well.

I got a 32-2 tooth wheel on the crankshaft that has a Bosh HA-P hall effect sensor looking at it. The sensor is getting 5V power and the signal of the sensor is going to digital pin 3 on the Proteus V0.4 (F7).
The air gap is about 0.5-0.8mm for the sensor.

I hooked an oscilloscope up to the digital pin and monitored the signal, this is the best I could capture on the scope (really need a data logger)

So I would say, the sensor is working, and also the fuel pump triggers when the sensor changes state (which makes sense because when turning we need fuel).

But there is no way I can get a signal to show I either TunerStudio or rusefi_console.

I was expecting a signal as you guys have stated in the documentation :

So I'm a bit lost here, somebody here that has an idea?

Some more testing is done and I don't really know where the fault sits.

I have made a simple setup with an old flywheel that is driven by a drill. This way I can drive the wheel sort of stable in terms of RPM.
And hooked the sensor up to the ECU.

But TunerStudio shows a strangle behaviour in the RPM.

As you can see in the top left corner... RPM is all over the place?!

Are you feeding your unit just with USB? What is the voltage on the 5v outputs at the moment?

@mck1117 is it wise to feed sensors from proteus +5v without +12 power?

I started with just the USB, and later added 12V to the mix, which solved my problem, and the RPM is steady now however, this is a very big flywheel with bit tooth, but the wheel on the crankshaft is a way smaller, and after some fiddling, I got a signal but no RPM? This looks pretty okay right!?

It is potentially undefined behavior. I would expect to see 4.1-4.5 volts on the 5v sensor outputs (and on the internal 5v rail) when powered from usb, as opposed to 5 +- 0.05 when powered via the ignition pin from a supply 7-28 volts.

It's possible the sensor actually wants a 12v supply, and has marginal operation at 5v anyway.

Do we know what car this came from, and any info about the wiring (ie, is it obvious from the wiring diagram?) or a troubleshooting guide that offers test voltages?

Also, can you take a photo of the missing tooth on your wheel?

In my first post, I linked the datasheet to the sensor, and it should work fine on 4.5V to 24V. But yes the sensor works great when I also hook up the 12V. So the problem is not in the sensor but maybe the wheel?!

Here is the wheel on the same setup as the flywheel, driven by a drill. And you can see the output on the scope... Not looking so great.

It is a 32/1 wheel that is around 114mm in diameter. Later this week I have time to make some logs and more pictures.
Maybe it is just the trigger wheel because they call it magnetic stainless steel? See link:

I have been doing some more testing today. But I'm unable to get a got signal out of the sensor with the 32/1 trigger wheel.

Now I'm thinking that the sensor is not suited for the job. I found 2 versions of the datasheet, one says a max frequency of 4.2Khz and another a max of 10KHz. but still with that 4.2KHz max..

1000RPM / 60 = 16.6Hz x 36 teeth = 600Hz, so at idle 600Hz. 4.2Khz / 600 = 7 x 1000RPM, so the sensor should handle up to 7000RPM...

But I dont get a single good reading with it.

What does the tunerstudio high speed trigger logger look like?
