Proteus: Help! I might have fried something

Post by ykill »

I might have done something wrong, I hope it's repairable.
I first pinned my ETB and cam/crank sensors on my proteus (v0.5 january 2021 in case it helps), everything was working.
I then pinned the injectors and coils (gen 4 ls based engine)
Everything was still working.
I then tried to wire my CEL, I wasn't sure if it needed a negative or positive wire so I started with a lowside pin which didn't work.
I then tried and ign wire. CEL light was working but I little too dim so I used and high side which didn't work soo I wen't back to the ign wire (ign 11 I think) since it was better than nothing.
So after that, I was ready to find TDC and set the TDC degree.
That's when everything went south.
ETB stopped working (at first, I thought it needed only to reconfigure the TPS then the ETB autotune but ETB wouldn't work)
After, I found out that the fan relay would only activate the fuel pump.
I tried to leave only the 23 pins black connector and manually activate the fan relays with a probe but that would activated the fuel pump as well.

I continued to diagnose the issue today and found out that the pin 23 (power from main relay) was causing all the issues.
I have basic knowledge in electronic but I'm not sure where to look on the board.
I the any diode that could've shorted to ground or something like that?

How many grounds do you have from where to where.

Bench or car? Dead battery or good battery?

What is ign/main relay control/+12v from main relay route?

PS: proteus is pretty sturdy if covered with the case it takes talent to damage it.

It's in car
The relay is controlled by the car (I used the same wire/relay combination previously to control my megasquirt)
The battery is almost new and charged.
Every wire named Ground or Power Ground are grounded some directly on the battery, some on the firewall (through rivnuts so not the best).
Just in case, I will ground everything directly to the battery after lunch
3d printed case was on the proteus since the start

Through tuner studio, I have 12.3v
I moved the ground directly to battery negative terminal and I have the same issue

Looks like it's my 12v source the issue, probably something wrong with the crimp :?
I'll update once I confirm this works

I can confirm, the ECU is receiving 6v from the main relay on pin 23 of the black connector.
It's 100% my fault.
I now need to find why I'm getting 6v from there lol

6v is sometimes 12v minus 5v backfeed plus missing GND

My wire coming from the relay had 1 megaohn of resistance. Probably broken inside
So everything works now!

Thanks Andrey!
