New here... have a few projects... :)

Post by turbomiata »

Hi all, im from Slovenia.

Im working on a NB Miata 1.6 turbo (need ECU)

Friends projects are MX6 2.5 V6 (to be turbo), Honda Civic 7 gen 1.6 (VTI Collector, cams...)

We need ECU's for these cars. :) is there a discount if we buy 2 for testing ?? I would buy assembled 0.4 version with brainboards, one connector and pigtail.

Is there a free version of tuner pro ?

Both Mazda's need to be ready until may 8'th for the JAP Meeting we are going to :)

Cheers

Hey Elvis!

Right now I only have one assembled board in stock and the next batch would be here in about three weeks. There is pretty much no markup on these boards so realistically all you can save on is combined shipping. Theoretically you can save by assembling a kit yourself but that's only if you are totally sure that you enjoy soldering.

TunerPro is always free but rusEfi uses TunerStudio which has a free edition as well. Fuel auto tune in TunerStudio would require a registered copy.

Thanks for the fast reply!

So if I understand correctly.
If I buy an assemled unit it's plug and play for my miata?
No additional soldering required?

Cheers Elvis k.

Just to avoid disappointment let me state that no, this board is not a plug&play for any vehicle.

This board would plug to & run a NB miata same as http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=987 but you need to provide the tune and you might need to solder a resistor to have tachometer operational and some other minor soldering like adding a jumper wire could be needed here and there.

Hi, can you describe the Miata you have:

Is that really a 1.6L? I thought all NB models were 1.8L.
I have a '90 Miata with stock 1.6L that I'm planning to get started on next.

Looks like they had 1.6 NB in Europe and Japan - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_MX-5#Second_generation_.28NB.29

Correct. I believe the pinout is largely compatible with US NB 1.8l. Only differences are clutch-switch for starter interlock and maybe fuel-pump for some security reason. I'm going on memory though, so I may be even more wrong than usual...

My last MX5 was a 1.6L NB.
