Hi there from AZ

Post by ChainHeartMachine »

Hello,

I'm from Arizona and working on an 85 Trans Am. It's currently running the factory MAF based ECU and wiring harness from an 88 firebird 350 v8 (dash harness from 92) controlling a heads/cam 355. I've retrofitted it with a Nissan Q45 MAF, North Star DIS, and wbo2. Transmission is a 700r4 with torque converter clutch and vehicle speed sensor (no speedo cable).

Is the current "feature list" of rusEFI documented in one spot? I've poked around the wiki, the forums and the code, but I'm not seeing a comprehensive feature list (I wouldn't mind contributing on the HW or SW side as well to add features I need).

My intention us to swap in an Lsx based engine at some point and it looks as though upgrading the ECU is pretty much mandatory. Most Lsx swaps seem to use the OEM ECU, but I'd rather not use it as the cost of tuning packages are downright absurd. Then I also have to be concerned with 24x vs 58x reluctor wheels on the crank. Plus the Ls1 ECU has things I really don't need like electronic trans control and after-cat o2's.

I'd suggest downloading http://rusefi.com/build_server/rusefi_bundle.zip and browsing around a TunerStudio project created based on rusefi.ini - since all the controls are in the project that would give the full list of features. Feel free to ask questions! Our documentation sucks.

I've updated http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual:Current_Status#Supported_Features with the list from https://sourceforge.net/projects/rusefi/
Very limited telepathic abilities - please post logs & tunes where appropriate - http://rusefi.com/s/questions

Also for physical features, see this wiki. http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual:Hardware_Frankenso_board

Many software features exist in various levels of completeness. If you have physical hardware, and you can convey information to @russian, then he commonly develops features. He's currently limited largely by the hardware he has access to.
