Looks like it it should be possible. We already have secondary spark - right now it's implemented as a bit of a hack but I believe it works.

I guess next should be trying to come up with a configuration for http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual:Software:Simulator to look like rotary. Any experienced users interested to try setting up rotaty as a 4 cylinder or 8 cylinder engine? 8 cylinder would currently be needed for secondary spark. If this goes forward it should be doable to implement proper secondary spark without running twice the cylinders.
Very limited telepathic abilities - please post logs & tunes where appropriate - http://rusefi.com/s/questions

For physical IO and such, see this wiki page. http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual:Hardware_Frankenso_board

I recall someone had inquired about rotary before, I don't think they got it working, but I recall that @russian made some good progress on the software. I do not know of any deal breakers. I believe the hardware should work, as well the software should be able to make it work. However I believe it would be the first, so there would likely be some lumps, but it should be possible.

Largest issue with 13B Rew is the accuracy and frequency of injectors and ignition firing. With 2 rotors, each with 3 chambers firing each rotation, dual spark and dual injection and redline near 10k, you are looking at 12 ignites and 12 sequential injections per rotation.

Also there is little room for misfires or missed injection, rotor seals really don't like detonation, even less pre-ignition.

I could potentially help with this and it would give me an incentive to rebuild My rx7 FC turbo2. I was debating selling it or taking the engine out and scrapping it as I can only get a £1000 for it but the engine, trans, brakes and few other bits are worth that alone.

I might get to ordering the rebuild parts now :)

Hi all.. new to the forum so.forgive the naivety...

Regarding the above quote about the 12 events per rotation.. please keep in mind that the Full cycle of a 2 rotor lump is actually 1080 degrees of rotation (3 sets of 360 degrees ie 360 degrees of eccentric shaft rotation per face of the rotor...

A full CYCLE is 1080 degrees, but there's a power pulse every 180 degrees of crank rotation. The firing interval of a 2 rotor is the same as a 4 cylinder.
