2005 Saab 9-3 2.0T Ion Mold

Cabrio with 220K miles and automatic transmission is starting to die, but it cost as much as a nice battery impact wrench so I had to take it home.

It smells mold but has no check engine lights, so as long as it would start I can sniff ion sense stuff on a real vehicle!

Body looks great, but some mold smell inside and automatic transmission seems to be the worst part - one one hand I've driven 30 miles home on other hand some gear switches are shaking the whole car pretty violently.

Also, I now know why all ECUs are taken in junk yard. It's because ECUs are not very reliable on one hand, and you can easily clone it without GM scan tool. A lot of people on eBay offer cloning service or you can do it yourself, and ECU on ebay go for over $100 which is quite a lot considering how available these cars are at junk yards.

I wish many thousands of kms driving and many hundreds of good invested hours on developement. :-)
With the A/T looks like you will need almost an quick filter and oil change before it goes off totally. If it the same Aisin Warner AW55-50 like on GMs, when theyre good theyll shift smooth, but once they get clogged, its like an random generator. Ill had one before on an Vec. Z22SE, was smooth, but on 12000kms things changed, the AT was junk. At that time i needed the car pretty quickly, so i swapped it for an older one. One thing that ill remember that i saw for the first time so brown and dirty oil. (It was changed every 50000 from purchase (was a new car)).

The wiki says that there is low resistance under the combustion conditions and because of that
the current can flow without causing a spark.
In my experience it is harder to (ignite/cause a spark) if the engine is more loaded, means more pressure.
I would assume that if the micture is ionizied then the resistance is low, and can be measured or so.
Probably resistance is different if the mixture had been ignited...
But i don't know... maybe resistance is low and current flows,
but it yust needs more energy to ignite the compressed gases.

Selling parts makes me happy.

Ion Mold came with second set of wheels - just sold the second set of wheels for 28% of total purchasing price, this makes me happy.

It was peaceful and the birds were singing. I know it will be a bench or a ship one day.

Since it's a Saab, it will likely be reborn as a marital help for menopausal single women.
