We're now mostly set up but we've destroyed some of the pins... Could you tell us what they're called, so that we can order replacements?

The connector itself is fine and almost all the pins are in and connected to the cable harness. We only want to know which ones to order, cause we're not entirely sure which variant of the pins to crimp are fitting.

On a different note though, we do have the most important stuff connected and our VR->hall board works fine. Ignition and injection work as well, now we're kinda lost with the configuration though.
Our crank is 34/2 and our cam is 3/1. We've tried multiple different configurations but none seem to work correctly. The one that works best is crank as primary and cam as sync/vvt input but for some reason or another ignition doesn't always work properly. This is with ignition timing mode fixed and fixed cranking dwell at 10ms:

Note how coils 1 and 4 supposedly don't get trigger at all (checked with a timing light and an oscilloscope, coil 1 fires for 5ms, I suppose 4 does as well) and how the length of the signals aren't correct at all. Somtimes, apparently at random, it does show 1 and 4 firing. It's really weird.

Please post your tune at rusefi.com/online to reduce reliance on telepathy.

I do not have proper part numbers for MRE connector since those are source from a random Chinese vendor. You can try finding official molex parts matching this connector but there are definitely multiple styles with incompatible pins.

I would like to remind that a picture is worth a thousand words. At the moment we have an inefficient exchange which I perceive as a loss of my limited time :( Please consider posting more information in advance to make helping you easier.

Done.

Ah, ok. We'll just order some and make it work somehow.

Trigger setup is still very confusing

https://rusefi.com/online/view.php?msq=224&dialog=triggerConfiguration

I've just added the following on that dialog to hopefully make it a bit less confusing

field = "#Please use '4 stroke with cam' only if primary trigger sensor is actually on cam"
field = "#Separate cam input not part of Trigger Pattern does not count here"

Please change your setting to "4 stroke without cam" unless your 36/2 is actually on cam shaft.

One unexpected thing I see here is number of CAM/VVT events per engine cycle - I see three while both" first half" and "second half" shapes expect one tooth. Let me actually rename those cam shape modes. (rusEFI action item #1)

It looks like a new VVT mode is needed. What shall we call this VVT shape? 4/1? Toyota something? https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1847 (rusEFI action item #2)

We also need to implement https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1846 one day to show a helpful warning message. (rusEFI action item #3)

You are blocked until https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1847 is implemented, a work around for you would be to run with wasted/batched (no need to rewire, we have options for software wasted/batched) and without cam.

I did upload the new tune. Here's the link https://rusefi.com/online/view.php?msq=225
While you are on the community support plan please help me help you by supplying all the relevant information in the most available form. I am not enjoying the guessing of manually checking if a new tune was uploaded or not.

To keep it in line with how the crank pattern is named 3/1 would probably be best.
We also need to implement https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1846 one day to show a helpful warning message. (rusEFI action item #3)
that would definitely be helpful

Not a ECU question - are you planning/considering less M+S tires?

Currently we're just using old tires we had lying around, the front ones are M+S, the rear one is a summer tire.

In the meantime we've had some success though :D

(Sorry for not answering for so long, we thought notifications were on... they were not)
We can drive now without big issues. The motor could still use some more tuning but we finally got everything set up for that so it's hopefully not gonna take long.
I hope the video works this time:

Oh that's pretty cool!

You probably want to update to a newer release, there were a few useful fixes. Can you please post fresh tune and fresh log on rusEFI onine?

We are desperately craving user feedback. Too few people report back once their vehicle moves :)

Unfortunately we had only very little time on our hands lately. I uploaded a tune now though (https://rusefi.com/online/view.php?msq=670) and while it's not tuned well yet, it at least achieves lambda of around 1 under 3000rpm.

Here you go:

It's not that visible as we didn't take the cam shaft out of the motor; we couldn't find fitting images on the internet either. It has 4 sides, 3 with a trigger and one without.

Would be hard to apply my protractor to those photos. Do you have a logic analyzer to record the signal while cranking with spark plugs removed so that compression is not messing up the angles?
