Hello from Ga and question.
Somebody has made a model of TE connector 825213-1 as illustrated at:
https://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hardware:OEM_connectors#35_pin
I'm learning KiCad bit by bit. I've created a footprint, but I'm not yet very good with 3D cad (FreeCad) so my model of the connector is second rate.
Clearly a 3D file has already been made, its just not publically available from the Mfgr or 3rd party resellers, and I didn't find it (could have missed it) in the RusEFI github archive.
Any idea where I might find the file that allowed the picture to be rendered in the RusEFI connector list?
My unpopulated virtual board and incomplete connector:
Also, any chance anyone has made a Ford EEC-IV 60 pin 3D file?
Thanks!
~FerrariGuy

Re: Hello from Ga and connector question.
hello and welcome!
I believe I see a bunch of 3d files on TE site linked, the challenge is the conversion process which Jared is familiar with.
I am sure that we have not made many 3D models ourselves.

any chance you can share the footprint?

Re: Hello from Ga and connector question.
*Smacks head* I'm blind... Right friggin in front of me. There's another TE PN that's almost exactly the same except with a different mounting hole size (slight difference) and that lead me down a chase trying to find PDFs and pre-done D3 files for this mode, and no one had it... Gah! I even searched TE's site (instead of using the RusEFI link)... ah well.. All fixed now.
Thank you. Going to try to share the foot print in the next post.

Re: Hello from Ga and connector question.
I *think* I've included what's needed for the footprint I created (and modified 3D file). It'll have to be re-associated back in KiCad. (Below)
It's my first footprint, so please check it over. It was made from the data-sheets I could find for 825213-1. With the new TE 3d model I had to pull in the double row of footprints 0.3mm closer to the connector. I also made the hole size 1.3mm figuring the pins are 0.8mm and have a square diagonal of 1.13mm (model size not sure about real-world size).
ZIP FILE:
*.Lib File
*.STEP File
.Pretty directory
Note also that the footprint must be manually aligned on the edge of any board you're creating by dimensions. KiCad 5.x won't let me put in a cut-edge in the footprint designer (supposedly coming in 6.0). I know it can be done manually, and by exporting it out to FreeCad and then back into KiCad, but I don't know how to do that yet.
So... use at your own risk and your own double-checking.
Thanks!

Re: The Ford EEC-IV RusEFI footprint. Very grateful for that and it's availability in GitHub. Any chance anyone knows of a data-sheet for it? Dimensions? Etc? (or obviously better yet, a pre-done model?) Obviously having the 3D model is just a nice extra... but... yeah.. it'd be nice.
Thanks again for any insights,

Thank you! This is now https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1721 https://github.com/rusefi/kicad-libraries/commit/98dc46d6b69545cb5ed1d01cdaef06283612b80e
How many cylinders on your engine? What engine? ETB or mechanical?
I am not qualified to compare rusEFI to speeduino. I know that rusEFI has recently added remote access to SD card and more proper MAF fuel logic but I assume speeduino is also making amazing progress.

They both look great, and I've got a LOT of learning to do. I had a lot of interest in the first Megasquirt back in the first group buy.. (even made an ECU I never got around to using). Then college and other things took precedence. At this point this is all kind of a side-learning exercice.
The applications are --- Jag V12s. Soo.. custom boards w/ extra drivers (Peak and Hold for OEM injectors). One app would be just a plug-in replacement for the common computer in 80's V12 Jags (drop the board in the old case), and the other would be a Zytek ECU replacment for XJRS's w/ sequential injection. - obviously more complex. -- and again.. this is at this point.. mostly exercise... virtual (CAD/Code/Design/Learning)... not physical. Ideally a 3rd option would be a full-on re-wire w/ 12x 12x sequential injection/cop. Yowzas! Clearly Speeduino isn't there yet, but DropBear is going to be interesting and gets closer. The open source approach w/ lots of contributors is really cool too. ETB would be a nice extra but I hadn't really considered it.

Re: Hello from Ga and connector question.
Thanks for the link. I've seen some of the progress on the BMW V12 on youtube, but I haven't read the forums on it yet. It might just be the design to go with... or one of them.
Thanks again,

OK I see! This is YOUR project! Very cool!
I may eventually have questions if that's ok Glad to see the progress,
